A recent study by the UC San Diego School of Medicine published in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found glyphosate exposure in humans is up by 1,200 percent since 1994. That’s one year after Monsanto first introduced its GMO Roundup Ready crops. Prior to this, very few people had detectable levels of glyphosate in their bodies.

Glyphosate is a nasty chemical and the primary product in Monsanto’s most widely used herbicide Roundup. Please don’t buy any Scotts Miracle-Gro products — it’s clear all the company cares about is profit and destroying the environment, rather than your health and protecting our environment. Hagedorn refers to his business strategy as warfare and has even famously said, “In commercial combat you kind of r**e and pillage, and you keep all of the stuff.” This is not the type of company we want in our community, so it’s important that we stay informed and support our local grow shops.
