No solo un cuaderno de viajes

Aunque son conocidos como cuadernos de viaje, no son solo esto, nosotros las utilizamos en el estudio a modo de planificador o cuaderno de notas, hay algunos que dibujan, otros escriben, un cuaderno en blanco da para mucho.

También pinté un gato.

Although they're known as travel journals, they're not just that—we use them in the studio as planners or notebooks. Some people draw in them, others write; a blank notebook can be used for so many things.

I also drew a cat.

MIZU es nuestra colección de billeteras y tarjeteros pintados a mano.

No hay ninguno igual a otro, son piezas únicas que yo misma creo a partir de pinceladas de azul.

¿Por qué he elegido el azul? Para mí el azul tiene muchos significados, es agua, es un momento del día, entre el atardecer y el anochecer, son las montañas en invierno, es el mar, es el color índigo…como veis no es solo un color.

Lo he llamado Mizu, que significa agua, porque es un color que asocio al movimiento y al cambio.

Pero también es La hora azul (blue hour o l'heure bleue) ,el breve periodo del crepúsculo que ocurre justo antes del amanecer y justo después del atardecer, cuando el sol se encuentra oculto bajo la línea del horizonte y todo se vuelve azul.

MIZU is our collection of hand-painted wallets and cardholders.

No two are alike; they are one-of-a-kind pieces that I create myself using brushstrokes of blue.

Why did I choose blue? For me, blue has many meanings—it’s water, it’s the moment of the day between sunset and nightfall, it’s the mountains in winter, it’s the sea, it’s the color indigo… as you can see, it’s not just a color.

I’ve named it Mizu, which means “water,” because it’s a color I associate with movement and change.

But it is also the blue hour (la hora azul or l'heure bleue), the brief period of twilight that occurs just before sunrise and just after sunset, when the sun is hidden below the horizon

Carlo es nuestro llavero de pieza náutica, lleva su nombre en honor Carlo Scarpa, arquitecto Italiano nacido en Venecia, cuya obra se caracterizaba por Combinar elementos tradicionales (piedra, madera) con materiales modernos (acero, vidrio, hormigón) sin que perdieran su identidad propia, un amante de la artesanía.

¿Por qué una pieza náutica? Porque es acero, hecho para durar y resistir.

Y porque como Scarpa, nos gusta mezclar materiales.

Carlo is our nautical-themed keychain, named in honor of Carlo Scarpa, an Italian architect born in Venice, whose work was characterized by combining traditional elements (stone, wood) with modern materials (steel, glass, concrete) without losing their unique identity—a true lover of craftsmanship.

Why a nautical-themed piece? Because it’s made of steel, built to last and withstand the elements.

And because, like Scarpa, we like to mix materials.

Las manos son siempre lo primero.

Recuerdo que un cliente nos dijo:

“En estos tiempos digitales, las manos son lo que persistirá”

Y son lo que le da el valor a nuestro trabajo, ¿Quién ha hecho tu bolso? ¿Tu blusa? ¿Tu taza?. Hay gente detrás, hay manos y conocer a las personas que están detrás de lo que compras es hoy en día cada vez más difícil.

Pero aquí estamos, en nuestro taller, podéis venir a visitarnos.

I remember a customer once told us:

“In this digital age, hands are what will endure.”

And they’re what give our work its value. Who made your bag? Your blouse? Your mug? There are people behind them—there are hands—and getting to know the people behind the things you buy is becoming increasingly difficult these days.

But here we are, in our workshop; you’re welcome to come visit us.

En el estudio tenemos la oportunidad de conocer personas de todo el mundo y de todos los barrios, es la ventaja de tener una tienda estudio abierta al público. Así conocimos a Shihan, estudiante de School Of Art, Design & New Media en Valencia, que quiso hacer un proyecto de fotografía con nuestras piezas. Este fue un registro. Ya veis, se conoce mucha gente.

At the studio, we have the chance to meet people from all over the world and from all neighborhoods—that’s the advantage of having a studio-shop open to the public. That’s how we met Shihan, a student at School of Art, Design & New Media in Valencia, who wanted to do a photography project featuring our pieces. Here’s a snapshot of that. As you can see, we meet a lot of people.

Luz de mañana en el taller. Pieles apiladas, bolsas colgadas, el cartel que avisa: "Vuelvo en 5 min.", si, porque sin café no se avanza en esta vida.

Aquí se trabaja. Aquí se vive. Y nos sentimos orgullosos de nuestro espacio, porque lo hemos creado desde cero, cuando tiramos el primer muro y era un cubo vacío.

Morning light in the workshop. Stacks of hides, bags hanging from hooks, the sign that says, “I’ll be back in 5 min.”—yes, because without coffee, you can’t get anywhere in this life.

This is where we work. This is where we live. And we’re proud of our space, because we built it from scratch, starting when we tore down the first wall and it was just an empty cube.
