We like that companies start to get confidence with wood structures. One nice example is the Bip Computer office building from Alberto Mozò in Santigo de Chile. timber application frame architecture

It is great when shapes start to appear, formed by the repetition of only one element. We really like this kind of works of simple wood structures, like Tadashi Kawamata has many examples of them. This work is though from the Studio SHoP and was an ephemeral structure... The shelter and pool were all prefabricated and easily assembled on site. The way we like to do it – beautiful result, like the inside of a Pinao.

We love timber construction and its innovation. One of the key innovators are Shigeru Ban and Hermann Blumer . Here with their a new solution for a wood to wood joint, for the timber frame structure of the new Tamedia Center in Zürich. A master lesson... just beautiful!

The Truffle is a piece of nature built with earth, full of air. A space within a stone that sits on the ground and blends with the territory. It camouflages, by emulating the processes of mineral formation in its structure, and integrates with the natural environment, complying with its laws.

Green will build in the near future, a 30 floor high building with wood panels that we have used in Venlo Pavilion. That's music!

Building a skyscraper? Forget about steel and concrete, says architect Michael Green, and build it out of … wood. As he details in this intriguing talk, it's not only possible to build safe wooden structures up to 30 stories tall (and, he hopes, higher), it's necessary.
