Villa K Interiors

The interior design of Villa K is centered around natural light and the surrounding mountain landscape. Stunning views are brought directly into the living spaces through a two-storey glazed wall, making nature an integral part of everyday life. The large glass elements are connected directly to load-bearing solid timber columns without additional trims, resulting in an elegant and visually impressive expression. The boundary between indoors and outdoors is almost entirely dissolved.

The building's load-bearing log structure has been left largely exposed, both inside and out. The natural timber brings warmth, softness, and a sense of comfort to the interiors while also helping to regulate indoor humidity naturally.

The double-height living area forms the heart of the house. Adjacent to it is a mezzanine workspace with views extending towards the surrounding landscape. The kitchen and bathroom are located beneath the mezzanine, and also the bedrooms are situated on the main floor. The basement level accommodates a spa area, a home cinema, and the building's utility spaces.

Villa K

A gable roof connects the garage to the main volume, while generous eaves and wrapping terraces frame the views and strengthen the connection to nature. Carefully considered spatial planning ensures that every area is used efficiently.

The base is built in stone, supporting two upper floors of log construction. A large glass facade opens the living spaces to expansive views across the Lapland landscape.

Designed with sensitivity to its surroundings, the building integrates into the terrain, preserving existing trees and natural features🌲

⛪ Vihti Funeral Chapel (3/3)

The new funeral chapel sits gently within the green landscape of Vihti Cemetery, surrounded by mature linden trees. Its steep gable roof recalls traditional church architecture, while the rising ceiling toward the chapel hall symbolizes a journey through time toward eternity.

The material palette is minimalist. Exposed log surfaces define both exterior and interior, contrasted by a dark roof that extends onto the facades, concealing technical elements and adding depth.

Visitors arrive through lawns and planting areas, entering via the lobby into the chapel hall. The generous height and calm design create a sacred atmosphere, while warm timber surfaces and large glazed openings connect the space to surrounding fields and natural light.

The generous height and minimalistic design create a sacred atmosphere, while exposed log surfaces bring warmth and a sense of comfort to the sorrow of the funeral ceremony. Large glazed openings frame views of the surrounding fields and nature, allowing soothing natural light into the space.

The new funeral chapel is set respectfully within the green landscape of Vihti Cemetery, surrounded by mature linden trees. Its steep gable roof references traditional church architecture, while the ceiling rises longitudinally toward the chapel hall, symbolizing a person’s journey through time toward eternity.

The chapel uses a minimalist material palette. The log structure remains visible both inside and out, contrasted by a dark roof that partially extends onto the facades. These outer walls add depth to the building while concealing downpipes and technical elements. Behind them, the light timber glows warmly and invitingly. A spruce fence encloses the chapel hall, forming a small semi-public outdoor space that provides privacy and a place for quiet reflection.

Visitors approach through lawns and planting areas to the main entrance, passing through the lobby into the chapel hall.
