Kaksoset vai kaukaiset serkut?
Hoya longicalyx ja Hoya chinghungensis menevät helposti sekaisin, jos katsoo vain pelkkiä lehtiä. Molemmat ovat ihanan siroja ja kasvavat kauniisti amppelissa, m***a tarkempi kurkistus paljastaa totuuden.

Hoya longicalyxin kukka on todellinen harvinaisuus: sillä on aivan valtavan pitkät verholehdet, jotka saavat kukan näyttämään hämähäkkimäiseltä tähdeltä.
Hoya chinghungensis taas kukkii perinteisemmin, muistuttaen melkoisesti klassista Hoya bellaa.
Kumpikin on upea lisä kokoelmaan, m***a kukkien perusteella näitä ei ainakaan sekoita.

Twins or distant cousins?
Hoya longicalyx and Hoya chinghungensis are easily confused if you only look at the leaves. Both are wonderfully delicate and grow beautifully in a hanging basket, but a closer look reveals the truth.
In the first picture, you can see them side by side – they share quite a few similar features. But take a look at the next photos of their flowers!
The flower of Hoya longicalyx is a true rarity: it has incredibly long sepals that make the bloom look like a spidery star. Hoya chinghungensis, on the other hand, has a more traditional bloom, closely resembling the classic Hoya bella.
Both are stunning additions to any collection, but once they bloom, there is no mistaking them.
