🇨🇿 When light recreates the feeling of sunlight filtering through the trees! ☀️

Head to Prague in the Czech Republic for the Designblok 2026 festival to discover a monumental light installation created by Slovak artist Lousy Auber for the Ploom brand.
Presented at the National Gallery in Prague, this creation fits perfectly with the festival’s theme: light.

🌿 A monumental light installation inspired by nature.
The artist’s idea? To create a massive lampshade under which visitors can sit, away from the hustle and bustle of the festival, to enjoy a moment of calm.
Inside, a lighting system reproduces a fascinating effect: that of sunlight filtering through the foliage of trees.

🖤 And this is where Barrisol Chronos® truly shines!
Thanks to the properties of our black sheet, the light fixture maintains a dark, black appearance when turned off. As soon as the built-in light sources turn on, the light passes through the sheet and reveals effects that were previously invisible.
This technology allows you to play with contrasts and transform atmospheres.

☀️ Head to the heart of the Alsatian vineyards, in Wettolsheim, just a few minutes from Colmar, to discover the transformation of the Au Soleil Hotel & Restaurant.

Since 1960, this family-run establishment has cultivated the art of hospitality. Today, a new chapter in its history is unfolding with an ambitious expansion project: 11 new rooms, a redesigned restaurant, and nearly 900 m² of new space.

🏛️ A project by Next-id, an architecture firm based in Colmar.
The firm is guiding the transformation of this iconic establishment by harmonizing the venue’s identity with the contemporary demands of the hospitality industry: comfort, functionality, and high-quality spaces.

〰️ The best technical solutions are often the ones you don’t even notice!

In a hotel, the quiet of a room, the temperature of a space, the soundscape of a restaurant… these are all essential elements of the guest experience.

To address these challenges, Barrisol® has integrated its Clim® and Acoustics® solutions into the 11 guest rooms as well as the dining room.

✨ Light becomes an artistic experience.

In Prague, Czech Republic, as part of the Designblok 2026 festival, one of Central Europe’s major design events.

This year, the festival explores the theme of light, a particularly fascinating source of inspiration for artists, architects, and designers.

Among the installations on display, “Ploom Aura × Lousy Auber,” conceived by Slovak artist Lousy Auber, offers an immersive experience where light, darkness, and silence converge.

Amid the festival’s bustling atmosphere, this creation invites visitors to discover a calmer space, whose ambiance shifts in rhythm with the changing light.

💡 To bring this installation to life, our partner BARRISOL-CUBIS combined our translucent Barrisol® Chronos sheet which allows for a soft, even diffusion of light with an aluminum structure designed to create precise, custom geometries.

🌗 This interplay between light and darkness also illustrates the possibilities offered by our Barrisol Chronos® sheet.

What makes it special? Black when the lights are off, it reveals light, colors, and patterns when backlit.

A transformation that allows artists and architects to design dynamic installations capable of completely changing their appearance depending on the lighting.

With Chronos®, a single surface can thus offer two different visual experiences, while retaining the customization and shaping capabilities unique to Barrisol® solutions.

✨ When art travels, Barrisol® goes along for the ride!

After Venice, we’re heading to Prague, in the Czech Republic, where artists Barbora Šlapetová and Lukáš Rittstein will present their monumental installation *Jak se dotknout nebe* (“How to Touch the Sky”) from October 5 to 18, 2026, in front of the Palace of Industry.

This marks a new milestone in the artistic collaboration we’ve been fostering for many years with these two Czech artists.

🌍 A meeting of two worlds

For nearly 30 years, Barbora Šlapetová and Lukáš Rittstein have been exploring the connections between the indigenous communities of West Papua and our contemporary civilization.

Their travels and encounters have given rise to a unique artistic universe where ancestral traditions, myths, technologies, and space exploration intersect.

Their work particularly examines our relationship with the sky, the unknown, and the encounter between cultures that seem to be polar opposites.

Throughout our collaborations, we have supported the creation of numerous works blending sculpture, architecture, and scenography.

For this exhibition, the two sculptural cars, the figures, and the monumental dome all feature Barrisol® fabrics.

These creations, with their complex geometries, showcase the full creative freedom offered by our solutions, which are capable of conforming to particularly ambitious three-dimensional forms.
Beyond their design possibilities, our canvases also serve as excellent surfaces for video projections.

Their smooth, uniform surface is ideal for displaying images, animations, and large-scale projections, transforming the structures into true canvases for visual expression.

This is a particularly interesting feature for the works of Barbora Šlapetová and Lukáš Rittstein, who combine sculpture, film, animation, and architecture to create immersive experiences.

♻️ Works Designed to Travel

One of the major advantages of our solutions is their ability to be disassembled, transported, and then reassembled.

This is particularly valuable for traveling exhibitions: the structures and membranes can be reused and adapted to new venues without having to systematically recreate the artworks.

From Venice to Prague, this modularity helps extend the lifespan of the art installations while minimizing the need for new materials.

In Poland, at Osada Karbówko Wellness & SPA, in the heart of the Drwęca Valley.

Surrounded by nature, Osada Karbówko is much more than a hotel: it is a resort dedicated to relaxation, wellness, and events, combining accommodations, dining, reception areas, swimming pools, a spa, and numerous activities.

For this project designed by Joanna Misiun Architect, Barrisol® created fully custom-made light frames, whose shapes were specially designed for the location.

Curved lines, original shapes, large illuminated surfaces… Barrisol® solutions make it possible to design and manufacture light frames tailored to each project, going far beyond standard formats.

🌈 In addition to these custom shapes, we offer our Barrisol Lumière Color® solution.

Blue, purple, pink, red… a single room can completely transform its character simply through the use of light.

This is the project’s true strength: form and light were conceived together.

🌱 This pursuit of lighting performance continues today with Polaris Biosourcée®, offering up to 81% light transmission, with an EPD of just 1.36 kg CO₂/m², including recycling.

Next stop: Odense, Denmark, and Rosengårdcentret, for a project where architecture, light, printing and 3D forms come together.

The renovation of the shopping centre is based on a strong concept developed by the architects at Polyform and ECE Project Management: combining contemporary Scandinavian architecture with a graphic interpretation of the world of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales.

The large-scale graphics incorporated throughout the project were designed to create a genuine visual narrative, guiding visitors on their journey through the centre.

📖 This choice is far from coincidental: Hans Christian Andersen was born in Odense, and his work is now an integral part of the city’s cultural identity.

The author of fairy tales that have become famous around the world, he gave us The Little Mermaid, The Snow Queen, The Ugly Duckling, The Princess and the Pea, and many others. His collections of fairy tales were first published in Denmark in the 1830s before gaining international recognition.

At Rosengårdcentret, this heritage becomes a source of inspiration for the creation of a contemporary environment.

The colours, graphics and sculptural elements are therefore more than decorative features: they contribute to a visual identity rooted in the local culture and reflect the ambition to tell a story through design.

And this is precisely where Barrisol® expertise comes into play.

💡 Numerous printed light boxes were created using our Print Your Mind® solution, reproducing visuals in very high resolution while combining them with uniform lighting.

The project also showcases another area of Barrisol® expertise: three-dimensional bending.

Two large bespoke decorative structures punctuate the spaces: one features a wood-effect print, while the other contrasts a white exterior with a patterned purple interior.

These installations illustrate our ability to bring complex three-dimensional geometries to life.

Printing, light, colour and volume work together to extend the project’s storytelling into the physical space.

🌱 This creative freedom is also supported by our environmental commitment. Barrisol® sheets are 100% recyclable, while our Biosourcée® range has an EPD of just 1.36 kg CO₂/m², including recycling.
