Time for another timelapse! The team worked hard thinning out this copse. A powerful chipper made quick work of the brash! Unfortunately, the camera timed out before the job was completed but... you get the idea!

Spring is here! Most of our work cleaning up after storm Nils is almost over but there’s still plenty to do in the garden! Before nesting season begins, make sure you’ve done all necessary pruning on hedges and fruit trees so as not to disturb our little feathered friends once they start preparing their nests 🪺🐣 The short window is closing! Consider this your final warning 🤣🤣 Visit www.thetreepeople.fr

Who doesn’t love a good timelapse?

Here at The Tree People, we’re always setting up the tripod — especially when we’re transforming a garden through careful pruning or tree removal. A timelapse really shows the difference a few hours of professional work can make.

This job was a little more involved than most. The tree had to be dismantled in sections, using pulleys to safely lower the larger pieces to the ground. Precision, planning and teamwork — but the team got it done safely and efficiently 💪🌳

Since Storm Nils, we’ve been inundated with enquiries from property owners whose trees have either fallen completely or are now leaning dangerously close to their homes.

Both situations present serious risks that shouldn’t be ignored.

If a tree has developed a lean following high winds and heavy rain, it’s often a sign that the root plate has been compromised. Once roots have loosened in saturated ground, the tree is no longer securely anchored. Contrary to popular belief, leaning trees don’t “settle back” into place. The weight distribution shifts, making the tree top-heavy and unstable — essentially a ticking time bomb.

Don’t leave it longer than necessary.

Act quickly to protect your home, vehicles, and family.

🌳 Contact The Tree People today for a professional assessment and a no-obligation quote to safely remove or make safe any storm-damaged trees.

The team was hard at work in Lalinde today, looking after three different clients. 🌿

We worked on a wide variety of trees, including eucalyptus, apricot, fig, bay laurel, plum and cherry.

Now is a great time to prune fruit trees. With careful, considered pruning (without going too heavy), there’s still every chance they’ll flower beautifully this year. Even better, the right pruning helps encourage a stronger structure and a higher-quality harvest later in the season.

Healthy trees, better fruit, happier gardens. 🌳🍒

This video features two trees we’re asked about all the time: poplar and ash. They might look similar at a glance, but they behave very differently once you get to know them 👇

🌿 Poplar trees
Poplars are famous for their speed. They’re one of the fastest-growing trees in Europe, often gaining up to 2 metres a year. That rapid growth comes with wide, shallow root systems that can travel a long way in search of water — sometimes far beyond what people expect. So yes- they'll be loving this weather! 🌦️
They also tend to become more brittle as they mature, meaning regular inspections and pruning are important, especially in exposed or built-up areas.

🌳 Ash trees
Ash trees grow more slowly but much stronger, with flexible wood that copes better with wind. They’re long-lived, elegant trees and a real asset to the landscape when healthy.
However, ash does need monitoring — particularly as mature trees can develop structural weaknesses, and of course due to ongoing concerns around ash dieback.

🌱 Why this matters
Two trees of similar size can require very different care. Location, age, root spread and overall health all play a role in deciding whether a tree needs pruning, reduction, monitoring… or removal.

If you’re unsure what’s growing on your land — or whether it’s becoming a problem — that’s where we come in.
