A summer of French design inspiration. Paris and Marseille, through our eyes.

Paris, a city of beautiful contradictions — the ornament and grandeur of its historic architecture sitting alongside the clarity and restraint of modernism. The sculptural simplicity of Giacometti, the rigorous geometry and raw materiality of Le Corbusier, the playfulness of Monet; coloured glass balconies, softened by aged stone, warm timber, patinated metals and the quiet elegance that feels so distinctly Parisian.

What we love most is the tension between old and new. Nothing feels too polished, too perfect or too considered. Materials are allowed to age, objects have presence, and spaces feel collected rather than composed.

A few details, forms and textures from Paris and Marseille that have stayed with us — and will inevitably find their way into our work.

We’ve been working with Williams Jet Tenders and Evene Tenders on their exhibition stands at various boat and yacht shows around the world since the start of 2025.

The Maison La Roche, by Le Corbusier, 1925.
New building materials such as reinforced concrete allowed Le Corbusier to implement what he was to call “the five points of a new architecture”. These are: piles, roof garden, free plan, ribbon window and free facade, here use together for the first time.

Inspiration around every corner.

Aquired by the Centre-Val de Loire Region in 2007, The Domain of Chaumont-sur-Loire has become an unmissable site within the spheres of art and gardens. The triple identity of the Domaine : Heritage, art and gardens make for a unique visit within the circuit of the Loire Valley castles.

We've been a little quiet over here for the last few months as we've had our heads into some really exciting projects. We thought we'd take this opportunity to catch you up and re-introduce ourselves.

Monica Innes and Luke Jones make up the management team at Ellipse.

Recently we've been working on some really exciting things. Here's a few that we can tell you about...

We designed Boiler & Co's first location in London, a stones throw from the Tate Modern.

We've been up and down the country helping with brand and interior strategy and roll out for refurbishments and new restaurants.

We curated and designed an exhibition for highlighting the problems with plastic.

For the last couple of months we've been designing all of the amenity and wellness spaces within latest flexible office building in Alfred Place, launching in January 2024.

Other projects include private residential clients, workspace fit outs and show homes for some of the UK's sustainable developers.

Reflecting on our first year in business, we just wanted to thank our clients for committing to reducing their carbon footprint through sustainable design and strategy.

We’re really looking forward to growing and scaling the business over the next year.
