Reflection has captivated humanity since ancient times, from the first glimpse of our own image in still water to the modern-day selfie. Studio Catoir reinterprets this timeless fascination by assembling beveled, polished fragments of light that reveal far more than a simple mirror image. Their creations evoke the richness of a contemporary cut diamond, shimmering with subtle hues, sparkles, and gloss.
Adaptable in both form and theme, these mirrors create a unique dialogue between the viewer, the surrounding space, and the reflections they generate.

Le miroir fascine l’humanité, depuis le premier aperçu de notre propre image dans l’eau calme jusqu’au selfie d’aujourd’hui. Le Studio Catoir réinterprète cette fascination intemporelle en assemblant des fragments de lumière biseautés et polis qui révèlent bien plus qu’un simple reflet. Leurs créations évoquent la richesse d’un diamant taillé contemporain, scintillant de nuances subtiles, d’éclats et de brillance.
Adaptables tant par leur forme que par leur thème, ces miroirs créent un dialogue unique entre le spectateur, l’espace environnant et les reflets qu’ils génèrent.

Every hotel entrance is a promise! The receptions we design provide, from the moment of arrival, a sense of intimacy and harmony. Each project begins with a reading of the context and a response tailored to the hotel’s specific narrative. Reception should be a privileged moment: balanced proportions, appropriate lighting, clear circulation and accessibility make the arrival personal and memorable. Materials are carefully chosen for their touch, durability and ability to age gracefully. Color palettes converse with the hotel’s character to reinforce the atmosphere from the very first step.

SHIBORI SIDEBOARD
Studio Catoir collaborates with master artisans to create pieces that perpetuate traditional know‑how through a distinctly contemporary lens. Inspired by Japanese dyeing techniques, the Shibori sideboard fuses heritage with modern design. Deep indigo gradients and the geometric motifs of Shibori are translated into a daring marquetry of enameled metal panels, executed by Maître d’Art Marie‑Hélène Soyer. The interplay of colours and reflections gives the sideboard a sculptural, almost pictorial presence that draws the eye and invites touch.

OKKO Hotels Troyes

In the heart of Troyes, a city steeped in
medieval and textile heritage, Okko Hotels
opened in June 2025 a destination where
contemporary design engages with local
history. Studio Catoir, responsible for the
interior architecture, drew inspiration from
the region’s timber-framed houses, dark
woods, and weathered ochres to compose a
warm, enveloping palette. The town’s
hosiery tradition is reflected in the material
choices: subtle weaves, textured fabrics, and
soft, tactile finishes that invite touch. The
hotel embodies an accessible luxury, where
every detail tells a story.

Nodo Armchair, Sculpting Sails and Ropes

Created especially for the inauguration of the new FRENCH DESIGN ART EDITION sector at Art Paris 2025, the Nodo armchair embodies a poetic and artisanal vision of contemporary furniture. Inspired by maritime knots, those ancestral gestures of connection, tension, and fluidity, Nodo breathes into wood the suppleness of sailing ropes, transforming rigid material into a flowing, organic form. For centuries, knots have been more than mere fastening techniques: they tell stories of navigation, survival, and craftsmanship passed down through generations. The Nodo armchair reinterprets this collective memory through a sculptural structure, where each curve evokes the movement of wind and the dance of sails. Upholstered in sumptuous Pierre Frey mohair, the armchair combines comfort with refinement.

LEMON SLICE TABLE
The revival of marquetry is revealed in a coffee table with a vibrant citrus motif, extending the long-standing fascination with the lemon in art history, from classical still lifes to contemporary representations. Once prized for its rarity, the lemon embodies summer, vitality and warmth. Crafted with artisanal expertise in the service of cheerfulness, the table stages a graceful dialogue between past and present, marrying tradition and modernity in a decorative gesture that radiates joy.

Le renouveau de la marqueterie se révèle dans une table basse au motif vitaminé, qui prolonge la longue fascination pour le citron dans l’histoire de l’art, des natures mortes classiques aux représentations contemporaines. Autrefois recherché pour sa rareté, le citron incarne l’été, la vitalité et la chaleur. Un savoir-faire artisanal mis au service de la bonne humeur : cette table fait dialoguer passé et présent avec élégance, alliant tradition et modernité dans un geste décoratif plein d’allégresse.
