_DELORDINAIRE project_ For over three years, the architecture firm Delordinaire and the brand Araku, part of the Indian foundation Naandi, have been building a shared vision together—one that is both thoughtful, committed, and rooted in a story. Araku, a unique coffee brand, is both a producer and a distributor, aiding the development of rural communities India. Its model is entirely based on biodynamic farming and a short distribution chain, with no intermediaries between the farmers and the shops.

DELORDINAIRE Project_ Each Cache was designed to adapt to a specific location. The height and orientation are adjusted to optimise architectural considerations such as natural light and views. The living
area, the focal point of the dwelling, has a large bay window and is bathed in natural light, opening wide to the horizon.

Nestled along the shores of the stunning Lake Saint-Jean in Canada, Delordinaire Architects in consortium avec Annie Sylvain Architects has unveiled the The Cache. This project builds on Delordinaire’s exploration of residential typologies, which began in 2020 with High House.

“Through our creations, we aim to offer more than a functional habitat. It is a way of living, contemplative moments suspended in time. The heart of our architectural approach is about creating spaces that “resonate”: encouraging mindfulness, connection, and sensitivity.”

DELORDINAIRE project_ The Garden House: Inspired by the 1950s, the interiors are sober and minimalist, with materials that exude refinement. Every surface or material is textured and vibrant.
The custom-made checkerboard bathroom tiles are reflected in the curves of the dark green lacquered bathtub set on elm wood supports.

_Delordinaire project

Delordinaire was asked to design a polyvalent building with commercial area on the ground and second floors and offices on the third floor. The concept of a « traversable building » was developed, flooded with natural light and creating a dialogue between interior and exterior. The front and rear facades are transparent, fully glazed surfaces and center of the building is pierced by a three-storey light well.
To mitigate the direct sunlight and views from the street level to the second and third floors, the architects designed a custom-made anodized aluminum rain screen. They function like veil, creating more intimate spaces on the upper floors and accentuating the windows at street level.
The building materials are, by design, as simple as possible: concrete blocks, prestressed concrete slabs, structural steel, etc. Delordinaire did not conceal them as is most buildings, on the contrary, they wished to leave them apparent. « We decided to leave these ordinary construction materials visible. The use of banal components as a finished aesthetic ultimately puts the emphasis on the interior volumes and play of natural light. The attention to detail and composition is no less important than a construction with more noble materials, and the result is a refined, high-end construction. »
