On the occasion of Omniyat’s 20th anniversary, a look back at The Lana Dubai, the first Dorchester Collection hotel in the Middle East, designed by Gilles & Boissier.
At the heart of the building conceived by Norman Foster, the duo develops a true “architecture from within,” exploring contrasts of scale and material from the monumental to the finely detailed.
Berber influences, desert references, and sand-toned hues engage in dialogue with Dorchester’s British DNA, forming a unique visual language that reflects Dubai’s cultural cross-pollination.
Elegance becomes hushed, almost couture-like, in the bedrooms and bathrooms, creating a comfortable, cosy atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the lobby shaped by vertical volumes and monumental artworks asserts a measured sense of theatricality.

Au cœur du bâtiment imaginé par Norman Foster, le duo développe une véritable "architecture à l’intérieure » explorant les contrastes d’échelle et de matière, du monumental au détail.
Inspirations berbères, évocations du désert et nuances de sable dialoguent avec l’ADN anglais de Dorchester pour composer un langage singulier, reflet du métissage culturel de Dubaï.
L’élégance se fait feutrée, presque couture, dans les chambres et les salles de bain. Une atmosphère confortable et enveloppante.
Tandis que le lobby, traversé de volumes verticaux et d’œuvres monumentales affirme une théâtralité mesurée.
