Among plant-based materials, bast fibers are extracted from the outer part of the stem of plants such as Flax or H**p. Long and resistant by nature, they are organised in bundles that give them great mechanical strength.

Unlike other plant fibres, bast fibres combine flexibility and lightness, making them particularly suitable for both textile uses and technical applications.

The Flax and the H**p, offer a wide range of possibilities: from the finest fabrics to high-performance composite materials.

A sometimes little-known, but essential characteristic that illustrates the natural performance of European Flax and H**p.

🇬🇧 Lin’Ovation 2026 is in full swing on the second day of the trade show dedicated to flax fibre and textile h**p, organised by ARVALIS in Ailly-le-Haut-Clocher, in the Somme region of France.

The French and Belgian professional flax organisations – AGPL, FESTAL, USRTL and ABV – are also in attendance.

The event provides an excellent opportunity to engage with industry professionals and raise awareness of the Masters of FLAX FIBRE™️ certifications and the Fibre Description solution. Lin’Ovation brings together experts, growers and key stakeholders from across the European flax sector to discover the latest innovations and take part in live demonstrations.

Our team will be on-site to showcase European Flax and H**p innovations, as well as the full range of tools and services supporting brands committed to reducing their environmental footprint: Masters of FLAX FIBRE™ and Masters of LINEN™ certifications, our digital traceability platform developed with TextileGenesis™, and the new European Flax-Linen Environmental Footprint Guide.

We will also take part in two key speaking sessions on June 24th:
• 10:15am: A panel discussion on technical innovations and new applications for natural fibres
• 2:00–2:15pm: A dedicated event on textile traceability, alongside Lenzing and TextileGenesis, bringing together leading brands and sustainability experts

Unlike raw fibre, yarn brings structure and regularity, making it possible to produce a wide variety of textiles with different qualities and finishes.

When applied to Flax-Linen, spinning reveals the adaptability of the fibre: from fine, delicate yarns to stronger threads suited to more technical uses.
