The last of our visitors booked for this year has just left. What a great season we have had with a lot of lovely guests and some fabulous reviews. The highlights have to be being made SuperHosts by Airbnb and the painting of the cottage that one of our very talented guests left us!

There's never a dull moment living in the country! Last night we had 4 deer in the field behind our house. Sadly no photos as it was pouring with rain. And then this morning one of the cows escaped to come and help us keep the grass down in the orchard! Luckily the farmer came to get him ..... they are bigger than you think and this one was only a youngster!

It's hard to believe that summer has been and is on her way to the southern hemisphere ..... to all our friends down there, look after her well and send her back next year! It's been a busy, busy, busy summer, but very hot and dry. Surprisingly though it's been the best crop of vegetables and fruit that we've seen in years. We have gorged on courgettes, beans, tomatoes, cucumber, sweetcorn, potatoes, squash, pumpkins and figs and will be eating walnuts & chestnuts for many months to come!!

Did you know that the Tour De France is coming to the Mayenne again this year and will be only a few kilometres away from La Richardiere Gite on the 13th July!

It's a cold time in the Mayenne at the moment, but before you know it spring will be here. My lovely hubby made a potting bench out of old wood today which will be a great help once I start planting seeds in a few weeks time!
