The most enduring interiors are rarely defined by pattern alone, but by the richness of the materials within them.

Bouclé, washed linen and matte ceramics introduce depth through texture, softness and natural imperfection. Layered thoughtfully, these elements create spaces that feel refined, tactile and effortlessly lived in without relying on visual excess.

True luxury often lies in restraint. In the balance of texture, tone and atmosphere that allows a home to feel both elevated and deeply personal.

If you’re designing a home that feels timeless, layered and intentionally considered, I would love to help bring it to life!

The most memorable rooms are the ones that welcome you in and never ask anything of you.

They don’t try too hard or compete for attention, they simply feel right from the moment you step inside. Everything is considered, yet nothing feels overdone, creating a space that feels comfortable and naturally put together.

It comes from a balance of soft textures, natural light, and thoughtful details that sit effortlessly in the background, allowing you to settle in without overthinking the space.

Focus on comfort, edit back where needed, and let the space speak for itself.

The way a space is oriented can completely change how it feels to use.

Shifting a desk or reading spot toward a window allows light to become part of the experience, not just something in the background. It softens the space, improves focus, and creates a more natural connection to the outside throughout the day.

Instead of facing a wall, even a small adjustment in direction can make a corner feel more open, more considered, and more enjoyable to spend time in. It’s a simple change that brings both function and atmosphere together.

If your workspace feels flat or uninspiring, try turning it toward the light.

Corners don’t need to be filled, they can be softened, lifted, and brought to life. Instead of adding more furniture, consider how something lighter and more organic can shift the feel of the space. Using stems and branches is a simple way to introduce height and movement, drawing the eye upward and giving purpose to an area that might otherwise feel overlooked.

It’s often these small, thoughtful additions that help a room feel more complete, creating a natural connection between different elements without adding heaviness. The result feels more balanced, more layered, and more considered.

If a corner in your home feels unfinished, try letting it grow instead.

Over the past few years, I’ve been working through my professional development with the British Institute of Interior Design, and I’m so pleased to now officially say that I’m an Associate of the British Institute of Interior Design.

For me, this recognition reflects everything I’ve built with Verano Interiors, thoughtful, personal design that’s centred around how people truly live in their spaces.

Running my own studio has been such a rewarding journey, and reaching this stage feels incredibly meaningful. I’m very grateful to everyone who has supported, trusted, and encouraged me along the way 🤍

Here’s to continuing to grow, create, and design homes with purpose.

Introducing green doesn’t have to rely on plants alone. It can be woven through a space in more subtle and layered ways, through tinted glass, ceramic glazes, aged patinas, and soft textiles that bring depth without overwhelming the palette.

These elements catch the light differently and shift throughout the day, adding richness while still blending seamlessly into a neutral setting. It’s a more considered way of using colour, one that feels balanced, timeless, and easy to live with.

If your space needs a hint of colour, try introducing it through materials and finishes rather than making it the focal point.

Storage that breathes is about creating a balance between order and openness. Instead of hiding everything away, it allows your space to feel more natural, where everyday items become part of the design through thoughtful placement, texture, and layering.

Open baskets, visible stacks, and a more relaxed approach to organisation bring warmth and ease into a room, making it feel lived in rather than overly structured. It’s not about perfection, it’s about creating systems that feel effortless to maintain and visually calm to live with.

If your storage feels too rigid or overwhelming, it might be time to rethink it and find a softer, more considered approach.

As the days stretch a little longer and the sun lingers just a bit more, spaces begin to soften and open in the most effortless way. Light spills further into the room, catching on textures, warming up tones, and creating that gentle, sun filled glow that feels like the start of something new.

It’s the time when interiors feel lighter, more relaxed, and refreshed. Sheer fabrics move a little more, corners feel brighter, and everything seems to breathe a bit easier. A reminder that sometimes all a space needs is a little more light, a little more openness, and a shift in atmosphere to feel completely transformed.

Movement in a room is what brings an interior to life.

Sheer curtains catching the breeze, soft shadows shifting across textured surfaces, doors left gently ajar inviting light to wander through. Without this sense of movement, a space can feel flat or static, but when light, air, and materials are allowed to interact, the room begins to evolve throughout the day.

To create this, focus on elements that encourage flow. Choose sheer or lightweight fabrics that move naturally and soften the light. Layer textures so highlights and shadows are constantly changing. Keep pathways open and allow subtle connections between spaces by leaving doors slightly ajar. Incorporate finishes that gently reflect light to enhance that sense of motion.

It is this balance of softness and movement that makes a space feel considered, calming, and effortlessly dynamic rather than overly styled or still.
