Another interesting one completed in beautiful Bieldside this week 🌿
We were called out to deal with a windblown Birch overhanging a pond, alongside a fallen Pine which had unfortunately taken out part of a deer fence on its way down.
The reason for the Pine failure was pretty clear… significant internal decay and rot throughout the stem... Nature’s reminder that trees can hide a surprising amount of decay internally 👀🌲
The Birch required careful sectional dismantling due to the tight space, awkward angles, pond below… 😅
When we arrived, there was already a saw firmly stuck in the Birch stem from a previous attempt to cut it down - which is unfortunately a good example of how quickly tension, compression and unstable timber can catch people out.
Trees under pressure can behave unpredictably, especially windblown or partially failed stems, which is why these jobs are always best left to trained and insured professionals. 🌳
Safe dismantle, fence damage cleared, site tidied in another stunning setting! ✔️
