We are delighted that our Upper Pitcairn steading conversion project in Grandtully has now been completed.

The development featured the part-conversion of a former farm steading to create a 1-bedroom dwelling.

An open-plan kitchen / living area was formed around a wood-burning stove to one end, with a large master bedroom on the other, featuring an original stone feature wall and new timber windows to the existing arched openings. In the centre is the entrance vestibule, en-suite shower room and plant storage area.

The elevated site optimises solar gain to the solar panel array and enjoys panoramic views of Ben Vrackie and the Tay Valley.

We are excited for our clients to furnish and enjoy the space before thinking about landscaping, and would like to thank the design & construction team for the hours put into the project to create a beautiful home.

One of two options presented to a client in Aberdeenshire featuring a full-width extension to the rear of their home.

A modest timber-clad form with an extensive green roof to ensure uninterrupted views from first floor bedrooms, whilst also improving local biodiversity and slowing the rainwater cycle.

Due to the sloping site, two paved terraces are created, improving the connection with the garden through a series of seating and planting areas benefitting from sunlight throughout the day.

The focal point of the open-plan entertaining space which our client desired is a corner window providing countryside views out towards Bennachie.

We would like to thank Alpha Fencing for allowing us to lease one of their offices at 5 Broomiesburn Road over the past 2 years.

During the interim period while we actively search for a new premises, Andy will be working remotely while continuing to head up our Aberdeenshire location.

Our operations remain fully functional and this move is part of our ongoing efforts to position ourselves for future growth and improvement.

We at Eòlas Architects would like to thank our clients, collaborators, consultants and friends for a great year.

It has been great to reflect on the year of 2025, projects past and current, and to look forward to what the year ahead may bring.
