** Block Work Drive **

Driveway repaired today. Lots of loose and sunken blocks due to the hardcore not being tamped down and the sand laid improperly. This caused many blocks to sink, so all the worse blocks were removed and relaid. Moss was also removed, as there will be a return visit to clean and re-sand the entire driveway. 😎

A small bedroom was redecorated in ocean blue. 🖌️ Painting in these old cottages is never easy due to their old-fashioned styles; nothing is straight or perfect. Having to paint over textured walls isn't simple, especially when the customer supplied all the materials. 🙏 But we got there in the end, removing the old red and also painting the ceilings. Now it looks a lot nicer for my client, and she loves it. 😎

** Work Tops Restoration **

A regular client of mine in Radley today needed some help restoring a few worktops after a lodger left a hot pan on them 😱🍳, as well as fitting a new seal around the sink. I started by sanding the worktops with 120 grit using my orbital sander to remove previous oil stains and rough patches, then used a block sander for the hard-to-reach areas. I wiped down everything with some methylated spirit, followed by a few strokes of rustine natural finish oil. I also carried out some small plumbing jobs and fitted a new bead around the kitchen sink 🧽. It's all in a day's work 😎

New client for today at Enyshem: a small but fiddly climbing frame build, involving sink drilling all holes and spacing all measurements. Whoever designed it clearly wanted someone to really work hard 🤣. Nonetheless, we finished it before the day was out, and the kids were super happy to finally have it up 😎.

A double bowl sink and drainer were installed for a client. Unfortunately, the client ordered the sink and measured it incorrectly, also they couldn’t send it back but still wanted it installed regardless of the gap. The kitchen is due to be replaced soon, so they didn't mind. Nonetheless, I installed it but couldn't leave a gap like that. I had some waste cuts of work top in my car the wrong colour, but it served the purpose. The client was extremely happy, and that's what matters most 😎.

** Laundry Room Upgrade **

A job completed in Steventon, Abingdon this week for a regular client of mine. The job included ripping out the rotten cupboards, sink, and cracked waste pipes, and connecting the outside waste. Then, new pipe work and insulation were installed, along with a sink and shelves and work top. The customer plans to finish off the paintwork, flooring, and other bits in this room. 😎

** Pallet Green House Build **

A new client contacted me this week from Wheatley, Oxfordshire, needing a level base for a greenhouse. The blockwork was heavily sunk and unlevel; since it's a rental property, the client couldn’t have anything fixed to the floor. Therefore, a floating deck on a platform was built. As it is a greenhouse and not a luxury garden feature, I opted for some 2/4s and gravel boards spaced out at 10mm, with joists and noggings at 400 centres. 😎🏡

** 🚫 New Stop Valve **

While working on a farm in Appleton to replace a sink, I encountered a problem when turning the water off. The original valve was completely deteriorated, crumbling into pieces as I isolated it. I proceeded to install new blue tec piping, elbows, liners, a valve, and a reducing copper pipe kit. Unfortunately, the customer provided the wrong sink, preventing the installation from moving forward. It was just one of those days, but everything is sorted out now. 💦😎
