We had 2 visitors in the shop yesterday who'd come all the way from Birmingham solely to see the Amazing Accrington Soapbox Challenge. They are online followers of Baxenden Car Breakers and came to support the event. Had they travelled the furthest just for the event, or has someone travelled further?

Accrington town centre welcomes the 2025 Soapbox Challenge to Accrington. We will be open throughout with a diversionary route in place for vehicular access as below. Come down and enjoy a great event.
Directions
From Whalley Road / Abbey Street turn left onto Peel Street
Turn left onto Infant Street
Turn right onto Bridge Street (open to 2 way traffic for access).
Cross the junction with Blackburn Road.

Officers would like to speak to the male captured on the in-store CCTV regarding a theft at Whewell’s Hardware store situated on Bridge Street Accrington.
The male attended the store during the month of June and numerous items have been stolen.
We believe the person in the CCTV could have information which will help with our enquiries.
