This border was choked with the ground elder.. I almost forgot to take the before photo so only half the border in that photo!
I removed as much as possible (it’s under the fence so unfortunately it will return).
I took the existing plants out and removed the ground elder roots from the plant root system, they’ve now got room to grow.

Started the day by digging out this rockery and replanting.

Thanks to Paul for lifting the stones out and back in place (they were heavy!) and Elena for helping with the digging out and replanting.

Started the day by giving this Buddleja a hair cut.
Buddleja is one of the many shrubs that can be cut back as much as you like at this time of year. I like to take them right down as it stops the thick wood from forming.
This one is very old and has a fair bit of thick wood in it but I’ve now got permission to thin it out on my next visit 👍.

I was recently asked to plant a north facing border at this property as the owners were struggling to get it right.
They now have an arrangement of plants that will flower from early spring to autumn and also some evergreens so the garden will never look bare.

I moved some existing plants that were in the wrong place and planted some newly purchased pots.

There are a few empty pots that will get planted as and when the plants become available.

All it needs now is a few hours a month maintenance.
