We got round to putting up our new sign at the Vale Of Alford Bowling Club last week. We are delighted to help and support a local club. We have sponsored the fours competition for the last few years now and decided to lock in our commitment for 5 years.

Having been born and bred in Alford and the business been serving the community since 1984 it’s a pleasure to give back to some of these amazing clubs and organizations which have been on the go for a long time now.

❄️ MONDAY 5TH JANUARY ❄️

Due to adverse weather conditions, W & M Stuart Ltd will be opening as normal tomorrow but operating with skeleton staff.

With more snow forecast and a drop in temperature tonight, we are expected to receive a high amount of emergency call outs. Therefore, we would like to assure you, if you are an EXISTING customer, we will do our very best to get to you as soon as we possibly can. Due to the road conditions in some areas, this may take us slightly longer than usual.

We would like to remind you all on a few important tips which can help prevent frozen pipes:

- Make sure you know where your main stopcock is in case of an emergency. This will enable you to quickly isolate the water.

- For some properties, pipework may be visible. For example, in the garage, under the front door hatch or under the kitchen sink. From experience, we have had some houses where the mains comes into the garage and is exposed to freezing. If you can, place a heater in the garage to prevent this.

- Make sure all pipework is well insulated. This can be done with temporary blankets or glass wool if you have to hand. We have plenty of pipe insulation in stock that can be collected.

- Throughout the day, run the taps throughout the house to keep the water moving.

- If you have inlays or hatches in the house where there is pipework, open them and let the heat from the house circulate.

- If you identify a frozen pipe, use gradual heat like a hair dryer or mini heater. Do NOT use a direct flame.

We seem to be experiencing intermittent technical issues with the phone system this morning, think it’s a BT issue.

Everyone at W & M Stuart enjoyed an early Christmas Night out. Big thanks to Dave at Peace Coaches for the transport to and from Inverurie Ten Pin Bowling. The food was just delicious and thank you to the bar staff for keeping the drinks flowing.

Finally, a huge thanks to all our loyal, hard working staff, it’s been another busy year and we really appreciate everything you do.

⚡️ power outage update ⚡️

We have been on the lookout for a generator for long enough for backup and have sourced one from Powerwasher Services Ltd many thanks for the service and prompt delivery.

So we should be operational now in any outages from today onwards.

Essential Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly and professional demeanour
- Basic computer Skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Greet and welcome visitors in a warm and professional manner, directing visitors to the relevant person
- Answer and direct incoming calls, taking messages for the relevant departments
- Preparing job cards for the relevant departments
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Booking in boiler services
- Administrative support including filing, printing and maintaining office supplies
- Prepare quotations and purchase orders within our Xero accounting software
- Taking payments over the phone
