Today I conducted the most disgusting house clearance I have had the displeasure to be involved with. Tenants left owing £18k in rent and it's going to take the fat end of £25k to get the house into a saleable or rental condition. After more than 18 months of fighting the landlord managed to secure the eviction. Even then he could get access to the property.

The tenants left, leaving 4 cats in the property, with no food, but they did leave the taps running, so they had water. They cats were alone for weeks, before the balif got the property open and the resulting mess was vomit inducing.

We spent they whole of today, removing the horror of what has been left.

Back again tomorrow, to finish the empty and rip all the carpets out.

Simple job in Sunny Gloucester this week. Removed trim then tiled up to the ceiling. Changed the bath taps, added a shower riser and screen. All ready for the customer to let the property, next week. For rental property, do what makes the job work, at an affordable price, don't get emotionally connected, you don't need to go with high priced materials.

Small job today. Customer had the usual new build leak in the corners where the shower cubicle meets the walls.

Screen out, clean it all up, take out all the old silicone around the tray.

Re-silicone, refit cubicle, using more silicone and better filled.

And done.

Are the basins in your home draining slowly, even after you use drain cleaner? Then it might be time to change the waste traps. These get full of all sorts of manky stuff, over the years and no matter how much cleaner you pour down the plug hole, the fix never lasts.

You can get replacement waste traps in DIY sores for a lister at £10.0 each and it's a short DIY job.

These two were in a 10 year old home.

Nice En-suit tiled this week. I didn't know what tiles were going up when I gave a time, so over ran on the time line as these were heavy boys and I had to get the main contractor to change the substrate from damaged plasterboard to wediboard and they came in at 38Kg per SQM with adhesive and grout.

All in all the room now looks very nice.
