Walnut crown reduction in the wet! This tree is hollow and with a heavy lean and root plate lifting. We crowned one side heavier than the other to create better balance throughout the crown. Much more stable now and most risks have been mitigated.

We have another larger walnut at the other end of the garden in the same situation which we will be starting tomorrow. 🌳😊

What a privilege to be able to climb this gigantic Catalpa (Indian Bean) I’d say it’s got to be one of the biggest in the country if not the biggest! considering the known largest is in wales this thing would tower over it in span and height!

All we done to this veteran was mitigation work as it is slowly declining and some large limbs were of risk of failing and this tree is situated right over a right of way. So slight crown reduction was needed and the large failed limbs removed to branch collar or a appropriate growth point. We will survey this tree over the coming years and prune where needed to try and salvage for as long as possible!
