This month on Top Tip Thursday, we're focusing on something that often sits behind the clutter, the overwhelm and the feeling that there simply aren't enough hours in the day.

The mental load 🤯

As a mum, part-time teacher, business owner and someone trying to keep all the plates spinning, I know what it's like to feel as though your brain is constantly running through a never-ending list.

✔️School events.
✔️Work deadlines.
✔️Things to buy.
✔️People to reply to.
✔️Appointments to book.
✔️Forms to fill in.
✔️ Meal planning
✔️ Logistics planning

It's exhausting.

One thing I've learned is that trying to remember everything is often what leaves us feeling overwhelmed before we've even started the day and resentment towards others within the family.

The goal isn't to become more organised overnight.

The goal is to stop relying on your brain to store every piece of information.

Whether that's a paper planner, your phone, a family calendar or a command centre at home, having one trusted place for life's admin can make a huge difference.

And the important thing is this: there isn't a perfect system.

For me, some weeks are better than others. There are still more days than not when I realise I've got too many things floating around in my head and need to get them down on paper. I prefer the pencil and paper method as it is visible. If I store it on my phone, it just feels like it is hidden and is still another thing to remember to look at!

But what works for me, might not work for you. What matters is finding a system that fits your life and that you'll actually use consistently.

That's real life.

This month isn't about perfection. It's about creating small habits that make life feel a little lighter and a little more manageable.

I'd love to know: what's currently holding all the information in your life? A planner, your phone, a wall calendar, or is it all still living in your head?

It’s Chuck It Tuesday ☀️ and this month we're doing things a little differently.

I know how busy life is right now, especially for mums.

School trips, sports days, concerts, assemblies, end-of-year gifts, transition events, summer holiday planning... it can feel like June is one long to-do list!

The last thing you need is a decluttering project that takes hours.

So for the next 5 Tuesdays, we're focusing on Cupboard Rescue Month - quick, manageable tasks that take 10–15 minutes but make a real difference.

This week we're starting with:

👜 Bags

Because if you're anything like me, there's probably a cupboard somewhere full of reusable shopping bags, old handbags, backpacks, gift bags and "just in case" bags!

The aim isn't perfection.

The aim is progress.

Over the next 5 weeks we'll be tackling:

☀️ Week 1: Bags
☀️ Week 2: Under the Sink
☀️ Week 3: School Uniform
☀️ Week 4: Tupperware and water bottles
☀️ Week 5: Hall Cupboard / Coat Cupboard

By the end of June, you'll have rescued some of the most cluttered cupboards in your home without spending entire weekends sorting.

Today's challenge:
👉🏼 Empty the bag cupboard(s)
👉🏼 Keep the bags you actually use
👉🏼 Donate any good-quality extras
👉🏼 Enjoy opening the cupboard without an avalanche!

Who's joining me for Cupboard Rescue Month? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Drop a 👜 below if you're tackling your bag collection today!

It’s Chuck It Tuesday ☀️and because the weather has been so lovely lately, I’m keeping today's decluttering task quick and easy.

After all, who wants to spend hours sorting cupboards when the sun is shining? 🌞

Today's focus is:
🕶️Sunglasses
☀️ Sun cream
👒Sun hats (if you've got a collection!)

Take 5 minutes and gather everything together.

Then ask yourself:
✅ Is it in good condition?
✅ Will I actually use it this summer?
✅ Is the sun cream still in date?

Be ruthless with:
❌Scratched or broken sunglasses
❌ Out-of-date sun cream
❌ Items you never reach for

Once you've edited it down, store everything together in one easy-to-find place so you're ready for the next sunny day.

Decluttering doesn't always have to be a big project. Sometimes the smallest jobs make the biggest difference and leave you more time to enjoy the things you love.

So, set a timer for 5 minutes, tackle your summer essentials, and then get back outside and enjoy the sunshine!

Tell me below: what's the strangest thing you've found lurking in the back of a cupboard? 👇🏽🤣

Continuing on the bedroom theme for Chuck It Tuesday 🛌🏼

After a lovely follower/client sent me a photo of her beautifully decluttered linen cupboard, along with 3 whole bags for the bin👏. I thought bed linen would be the perfect focus for today.

Bedding is one of those things we quietly accumulate over the years:

• Spare sets
• Old favourites
• Random sheets with no matching pillowcases
• Duvet covers from three décor styles ago (I'm looking at you!)

But the reality is, most homes only need around:
👉 2–3 sets of bedding per bed

One on the bed, one spare, and maybe one backup.

As you sort through yours, ask yourself:
✅Is it still in good condition?
✅ No holes, stains, missing buttons or broken zips?
✅Does it still fit the bed and suit the room?
✅Would I happily put this on the bed tonight?

If not, it may be time to let it go.

Good-condition sets can be donated, and worn-out bedding can be recycled in textile/rag bins or cut up into cleaning cloths.

And one of my favourite organising tips:
🌟 Fold each complete bedding set into one matching pillowcase to create a neat little “parcel.” It keeps everything together and makes your linen cupboard instantly calmer.

Small changes really do make your home feel lighter and easier to manage 🤍

Tell me… how organised is your linen cupboard right now? 🤔

Good sleep is built through small habits, not just getting an early night. 🛌🏼

Your brain and body respond to routine, environment and consistency more than most people realise.

Simple things like:
🤍 reducing phone use before bed
🤍keeping your bedroom calm & uncluttered
🤍 having a warm bath or skincare routine
🤍 reading, stretching or breath work
🤍 going to bed at a similar time each night

…can all help signal to your nervous system that it’s time to rest.

You do not need a perfect night time routine. You just need small consistent habits that help you properly switch off.

Save this for later 📌

Let me know in the comments, what helps you wind down before bed? 💤

It’s Chuck It Tuesday 🌿

Today we’re talking about something people rarely think to declutter… pyjamas.

👀Just double checking 👀

You aren’t still wearing old PJs with holes, stretched waistbands, faded fabric, or ones that just don’t feel good anymore?

We often hold onto sleepwear far longer than we should because “no one sees it anyway.” But here’s the thing…

YOU see it.
YOU wear it.
And how YOU feel at the end of the day matters too.

Going to bed should feel calm, comfortable, and cosy - not frumpy or uncomfortable.

If your pyjamas are:

❌ Full of holes
❌Washed out or bobbled
❌ Too big or uncomfortable
❌No longer making you feel good

…it might be time to let them go.

You deserve to feel comfortable and good in what you wear to bed too 💕

Today’s task:
👉🏼 Check your pyjama drawer
👉🏼Keep the pairs you genuinely love wearing
👉🏼 Let go of the tired old ones

Small changes can make your routines feel so much better.

Be honest… how old is your oldest pair of pyjamas? 🤔 📩

One of the biggest mindset shifts for me was realising that keeping a home manageable has very little to do with motivation, and everything to do with systems 🏠

Instead of trying to do EVERYTHING in one day, spread tasks across the week in smaller chunks.

20–30 minutes a day is far more realistic (and sustainable) than sacrificing your entire weekend catching up.

This is where habit stacking can really help too ⬇️

Attach small tasks to routines you already have:

🍵Wipe surfaces while the kettle boils
👕 Fold washing during your favourite programme
🪥Clean the sink while brushing your teeth
🛌🏼 Make the bed before leaving the room

Tiny habits done consistently make a huge difference over time.

Your weekends are allowed to be for resting too 💕

Save this for later & tell me, which household task do you put off the most?

It’s Chuck It Tuesday 🧊 and today we’re tackling the cupboard that causes the most frustration… plastic tubs and lids.

You know the one- where everything falls out, nothing matches, and you can never find the right lid when you need it.

Here’s how to reset it (quickly and realistically):

1️⃣ Take everything out and gather it all in one place
2️⃣ Match tubs with lids (no match = time to let it go)
3️⃣ Check condition- ditch anything warped, stained, or cracked
4️⃣ Keep only what fits your space and what you actually use

The goal isn’t perfection - it’s function. When everything has a match and a place, your kitchen instantly feels calmer and easier to use.

Set a 10-minute timer and see how much you can clear today ⏱️

Tell me… are you team “lid drawer chaos” or have you got a system that works? 👇

It’s Chuck It Tuesday 💧

Today we’re tackling a surprisingly common clutter culprit… water bottles.

Be honest! How many do you actually have?

They multiply in cupboards, gym bags, cars… and before you know it, you’re digging through a pile just to find one you actually like using or that doesn't leak!

Here’s a simple rule:

👉 1–2 bottles per person is enough

One for everyday use, one spare. That’s it.

When you have too many, you don’t use them all, your cupboards become a storage unit of water bottles, living rent free!

Take a few minutes today to gather every bottle from around your home and ask:
• Do I use this regularly?
• Is it in good condition?
• Do I actually enjoy using it?

Keep your favourites, and let the rest go:
• Recycle worn-out ones
• Donate unused extras

Decluttering isn’t about having less for the sake of it. It’s about making space for what you actually use and love and making your life easier. How much time have you wasted looking for a missing lid or straw!

How many water bottles do you think you have? 👀 Let me know in the comments below. 👇Who will be the king or queen of the water bottles?!!
