GPM Designs is looking to recruit a workshop technician to manufacture made to measure bedroom, office and lounge furniture.
An exciting opportunity to work in a small friendly business which Involves preparation of bespoke wardrobes, cupboards, drawers, frameworks and many other types of units from design drawings using power tools, hand tools and woodworking machinery, including cutting of materials on an upright panel saw and producing cutting lists, assembling drawer units and cupboards, ordering stock and unloading deliveries.
You will mainly be based in our workshop in Ash, near New Ash Green, but may sometimes be working on sites in clients homes where we are fitting. Transport and a clean driving license essential.
Would suit someone with previous experience in the furniture manufacturing industry and experience with working with upright panel saws would be an advantage and the ability to understand design drawings, sketches and plans is important. Basic salary is £23K per annum plus a production bonus based on very reasonable and achievable production targets worth approximately £6K per annum.
The job is typically Monday to Friday with a 7am start, but sometimes Saturday working may be required.
