It has been a long journey since 2023 when this scheme was first submitted to Ashford Borough Council's planning department but last week permission was finally granted.

This new detached four bedroom dwelling in Brabourne, near Ashford was certainly a challenge at times due to a number of historic planning refusals on the site and being within the Stour Catchment Area whereby nutrient neutrality needed to be achieved. Stour Valley Architecture dealt with all planning matters during this period and we are just pleased that the client who is local to the village can now finally start the construction phase and will soon be enjoying their new home.

Stour Valley Architecture has recently been assisting Aylesham Welfare Leisure Centre to produce a feasibility study to ascertain whether an extension of their existing facilities will be welcomed within the local community.

The proposals include a new sports hall extension, dance studio, nursery facility and soft play area. This new expansion will hopefully benefit all those living locally and within the surrounding area.

We attended a site visit earlier today whilst the sun was shining! This project is near completion with the odd snag remaining but could not resist taking a few photos.

Stour Valley Architecture were commissioned to design the extension and modify the existing layout of the original 1980's bungalow to create an open plan living/ dining/ kitchen space with views overlooking the north downs and the creation of a first floor bedroom. The exterior of the bungalow was changed and new timber cladding fitted to provide a fresh contemporary look.

Also included was a new detached car barn which replaced an existing timber garage that was sited in an awkward position on the land restricting views across the neighbouring farmland. The new barn is no longer an obstruction reinstating fantastic views for both the client and his neighbour.

Consisting of 6 new dwellings and 6 apartments within the old pub building. Units at The Railway Bell are now on the open market for purchase.

Stour Valley Architecture has recently secured planning approval to extend this existing single storey office building in rural Kent.

The first floor extension will create an additional 1370sqft of commercial office space.

The existing ground floor layout has been reconfigured to provide a new reception area adjacent to the main entrance and new meeting room with views out over the Kent countryside.
