New arrivals! Mophead hydrangeas in white, blue, pink and red.

What look like huge flower-heads are actually coloured sepals or modified leaves. Starting as a fresh green, these are starting to take on their full colour and will soon be completely colour-drenched.
For blue hydrangeas plant in ericaceous compost to maintain the colour, or apply hydrangea colourant.

Carnivorous plants have lots if ingenious ways of getting rid of flying pests...
⚡Dionaea or Venus Fly Traps sense movement on their tiny trigger hairs and snap shut to trap their prey (please don't poke them, if their traps all snap shut they can't catch their lunch!)
⚡Sarracenia or trumpet plant catch insects in their lidded 'pitcher'.
⚡Nepenthes or Monkey Cups tempt insects into their liquid-filled tubes with the scent of nectar.
⚡Drosera or Sundew trap small flies in their sticky leaves and are handy to keep near the compost bin!

There is a hydrangea suited to most parts of the garden.
☁️Quercifolia (oak-shaped leaves) tolerant of shade
☁️Petiolaris (climbing) also shade tolerant, great for a north-facing wall
⛅️Macrophylla (mop-head & lace-cap) partial or dappled shade
⛅️Arborescens (smooth) partial or dappled shade
☀️Paniculata - tolerant of full sun but keep them watered

Morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal for most.
