With this extremely hot weather this week we aren’t planning on firing the kilns. I know this makes your wait that bit longer for pottery to come out but with temperatures soaring firing the kilns will add to a very unpleasant work space as well as an even hotter environment to paint in for those joining us this week.

We’ll keep monitoring the weather and assess things, but apologies for a longer wait on pottery.

Both day time studio hours and ‘late stay Thursday’ hours are impacted, so please note we won’t be taking bookings for this Thursday.

The rest of this week though will be open as usual.

So today I’m a Birthday Girl and got to be on the other side of the paint brush as a birthday treat.

It’s been such a nice day ~ so many lovely messages, cards, flowers and treats 🥰

Got treated to a delicious breakfast by Little Buns Cafe 🫶, Jaco put me on light duties at work 😂, my precious children Drew & Jacob cleaned the house ✨ and I’m about to sit down to a Roast dinner cooked by Jaco (on a roasting day 😬☀️)

Feeling very blessed.

The sea theme is super popular in the studio at the moment and one of our lovely regular creators has made a note of colours she used to create these gorgeous sea theme mugs.

Mixing colours to create a sandy colour for beach and then using our selections of blues to create the sea. Once she had applied three coats she used the white (number 7) writer bottle to create a crashing wave.

Not only do the colours pop so much after firing but each one can be so unique with waves crashing in different directions and all sorts of beach accessories added to your design.

Another creator turned his pottery canvas into his very own sea themed painting.
