And that’s a wrap! Today I learnt to blend in plaster, repair a hole (kindly hammered in by Simon 😅) and over skim the ceiling. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and Simon’s teaching.
Next week, off to get all the tools and start on the bathroom!

Last week I put the washing line pole back up. We had to take it off when we had the scaffolding in the back yard. The pipe clips holding it were rusty and they snapped. Thankfully Toolstation UK had those nice pipe clips that were jut right for the job!

Something we are learning about DIY projects is that there is not such a things as one size fits all.

We had been debating for months whether we should just have over order the ceiling (as we were recommended to do by some) or to take it down and put new plasterboard.
Although the old plasterboard wasn’t rotten, it was of and smelled of damp. We decided to replace it!

Now the bathroom doesn’t smell damp anyomere and we’re super happy (and can laugh about those two days when we pulled the ceiling down).
Would we want to pull another ceiling down anytime soon? Absolutely not. Was it worth it? It was for us!

What I’m saying is, you don’t know what you don’t know until you know it! 💡

Another little throwback to when we took the bathroom ceiling down 🙈
The fan had fallen off a few months ago and we had a whole in the plasterboard ever since.
We took the chance to remove the old plasterboard which was bowing and smelled of damp, and replace it with new plasterboard. We had to get creative with loading the boards to take home in my little Ford Ka 🚙

A throwback to the tiling course I took at The DIY School - Construction & DIY Training Courses a few weeks ago.
Will soon be putting these skills to use to renovate our bathroom!
