That’s a wrap…. our fitters are heading home for their christmas break. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful & loyal staff for their hard work and dedication in 2025. We wish you all a very merry Christmas.

Most of our fitters can't go more than a couple of days without having to visit new build housing sites to replace broken glass on construction machinery but for two of them, yesterday was very different.
They re-glazed a Zaxis excavator in St. Helens on the site of a former Pilkington glass works which prior to that was a coal mine dating back to 1802!
The historical discovery is being unearthed 50mm at a time by a very skilled machine operator, all under the watchful eyes of a team of archaeologists.
So far two ventilation shafts have been discovered along with a curved brick structure which would have housed a large wheel but more is yet to be explored.
Let's hope this piece of local history is well documented or even better, preserved for future generations to see the town's heritage with their own eyes.

A.C. Plant Glazing has been continuously providing services to logistics, utilities and emergency response contractors throughout the pandemic ensuring that key workers remain operational during these unprecedented times.
Amongst other measures, we have ensured that our office has remained a closed bubble that is off limits to our fitters, that social distancing is adhered to, that all fitters work independently from their own vehicles and where jobs require two men that they maintain a practicably safe distance whilst employing the use of additional PPE such as face masks.
In an ongoing commitment to improve our efforts in managing Covid-19, we are proud to announce that as of Monday we will be testing all of our employees in-house on a weekly basis for Coronavirus.
This is primarliy to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff and their family members but also reduce potential strain on the NHS. From a business perspective this will allow us to identify and isolate anyone who may be unknowingly infected with the virus preventing them from infecting our other staff members.
Testing will help us to protect our team and ensure we have a strong operational workforce enabling us to continue providing the first class service that we have built a reputation on over the past 27 years.

Most of the team at A.C. have been enjoying some well earned time off over Christmas but all the Cartwrights (Allan, Glenn and Lee) have been working hard throughout the festive period. They've been fitting windscreens to a range of vehicles including Transits, Sprinters, DAFs, Scanias and this MAN which is our last 'Christmas Commercial' and final job of the decade!
We would like to take this opportunity to wish our customers, colleagues, suppliers and friends happiness, health and success in 2020.
