Ever fancied a fulfilling and varied outdoor job?

A local forestry team are looking to recruit new members to their work force.
We are looking for individuals who are keen to expand their knowledge and experience within a small team working in both the domestic and commercial field.
You must be willing to travel on a daily basis and at times ‘stay away’ for work on occasion.
We have two roles available.
1) we are seeking an individual holding the applicable tickets for our tree surgery work and has a clean driving licence
2) individuals, ideally having previous knowledge of working within the forestry/ tree surgery field and have a clean driving licence. However, for this role experience is not essential and training can be offered to the right individual, after working for a preliminary period.

Western Tree Services has been in operation for over 30 years, and our entire workforce have been NPTC trained and are fully qualified and insured. We are based in Devon, but regularly undertake work in Dorset and Somerset too.

We are looking for an enthusiastic member to join our forestry/tree surgery team. The position would suit someone with a genuine interest in tree and land management (including ground maintenance and conservation), and who would like the opportunity to learn new skills and progress within the company.

The work is varied and spans both domestic and commercial settings.

```Duties```
- Perform tree maintenance tasks such as pruning, trimming, and shaping trees
- Remove dead or hazardous branches using power tools and hand tools
- Safely climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other equipment
- Operate heavy machinery such as wood chippers
- Perform herbicide spraying
- Various forestry tasks
- Assess tree health
- Plant new trees and shrubs
- Provide groundskeeping services

```Preferred Qualifications```
- Previous experience as a tree surgeon or in a related field preferred
- Ability to operate power tools safely
- Knowledge of tree species, diseases, and pests is preferred
- Ability to climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other equipment
- Proficient in landscape maintenance techniques such as planting, irrigating, and pruning
-Chainsaw and climbing certificates preferred
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
