🌳 Another busy week out on the tools! 🌳

Despite the weather doing its best to keep everyone indoors, we've been helping customers across the area get their gardens and trees back into shape.

A snapshot of this week included:

✅ Crown lifting work on Lime trees in BD18, transforming them from overgrown shrubs back into trees 🌿

It’s been a busy half term for our team, carrying out essential tree work across local schools while the classrooms are quiet and the playgrounds are empty.

During our annual inspection visits, we assess each tree’s health, structure, and safety — and this week we’ve been following through on our recommendations to ensure every site is safe, tidy, and in tip-top condition ready for the children’s return.

From careful crown reductions and deadwood removal to general maintenance and health checks, our focus is always on:

✅ Minimal disruption to school schedules

We have been seeing alot of people asking for recommendations for Tree surgeons and common responses being 'it's illegal to carry out tree and hedge pruning work during nesting season'.....so we just wanted to touch on this to clarify 🌳🌲🌻

We understand the worry and concerns of having tree work / hedge pruning carried out during this time but just to clarify carrying out work during this time is still allowed and certainly not against the law providing there are no active nests;

"It is an offence under Section 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act of 1981 to intentionally take, damage or destroy the nest of any wild bird while it is in use or being built, or to intentionally kill, injure or take chicks or adults, or intentionally take or destroy any eggs"

Our teams always check for active nests during the initial site visit and before carrying out any form of tree or hedge work - we do this all year round as standard due to the weather changes, nesting seasons also change 👍🐣

If there are any active nests discovered, we will down tools and complete the work once the egg have hatched and birds / chicks have fledged 😊
