When I ask you to keep your wood away from the stove it’s because I care! Please listen to me ❤️

Our crews were recently called to a fire caused by logs stored too close to a log burner.

Always keep wood, coal, and other fuels at a safe distance and use a spark guard around fire places, open fires and log burning stoves .

Let’s stay warm and safe.

Thank you to all my customers who buy a Carbon Monoxide alarm as soon as I advise to install one! You could be saving your own life or your loved ones.

The incident is believed to involve carbon monoxide and seven others, including emergency staff, were treated.

Yesterday I had an elderly lady contact me saying she’s been let down by her sweep. At the time of her contacting me I had just swept my 6th chimney of the day on a Saturday, I was very tired and needed to get home to prepare my van and equipment to work Sunday too.

I told her I would try my very best to get to her ASAP and look at my diary in detail , but because I couldn’t offer her a concrete appointment within that moment she said:

“Thought you would look after an elderly person obviously not”

My reply:

“I already have elderly and vulnerable customers I work for, so essentially you’re asking for me to cancel them and prioritise you. Then they will be in the exact position you’re in, being let down by a sweep”

I will never work for selfish and impatient people. I have been self employed since I left school and I don’t think people appreciate how difficult it is to keep everyone happy and reply to everyone’s messages and various requests.

Please be kind and patient. I also want to take a moment to thank all my lovely customers I’ve had for years and years. I appreciate you all
