🌸​My absolute favourite ritual is gently drying our homegrown botanicals on the kitchen windowsill in my vintage scales. I love turning them, hearing the crunch and wondering what their final dried colour will be!!

🌿By drying botanicals in this way it keeps their vivid colours, subtle fragrance, and organic texture intact.

🏡Getting back out into the garden for a bit of creative therapy was just what the doctor ordered today!

🌸I am completely in love with how my hydrangea wreath turned out. The variation of shades you get from just a single plant is unbelievable - everything from deep, moody mulberry to vibrant blues, and every gorgeous tone in between. My variety is a mophead, and honestly, aside from the odd drink of water, it just gets on with things. I love drying hydrangea for my fabulous soy wax melts, so making a late summer door wreath felt like the perfect project.

My Top Tips:
✂️* Prep the stems: Strip off all the leaves and make sure to leave at least 10cm of green stalk so you have enough length to bind. Woody stalks are a pain to work with.

🌿* Shape as you go: I used floral wire to tie it all together. The green stems are super pliable, so you can easily mould the whole thing into a circle.

🐛* Evict the bugs: Once it's built, leave it somewhere dry for a day or two! This gives all the little earwigs and spiders a chance to make a quick exit before you bring it inside.

🌟To finish it off, I’ll be giving mine a good spritz of Galgorm Melts clean room spray - probably in Wild Irish Cowslip to keep it smelling lush. Tie with a ribbon and hang.
