At least the hostas will not be spoilt by the heavy rain! One minute it’s a heatwave, the next it’s the rain which we needed but just keeps coming…. It is bringing the roses to life but the weeds love it! Anyone who would like to help me with them are most welcome 😀.
Whatever the weather join us as there is always something to delight in whether in the gardens or Tearoom, we would love you to visit our spot of paradise!

We spent a little time down by the pond this week, cutting back the extraordinary growth such that the paths were barely passable! It’s a great place for some contemplation. Plenty more work to do there but it is not quite as wild as it was.

All the recent rain means that boots are essential around the grounds and even in the walled gardens the vegetation has gone mad but then the flowering is profuse & fabulous.

I hope you will be visiting soon, you could enjoy a full Afternoon tea at £22 per person, it takes some eating but is a great treat for an anniversary - booking essential.

Sunshine & a Bank Holiday weekend, a dream come true at Benvarden Gardens! Relax as you wander around & see these amazing colours & then sit in the sun in the cobbled yard with coffee, tea & treats at The Stableyard Tearoom.
Watch the swallows duck & dive and if you are really lucky, you may see a red squirrel, or two or three as we did.

An exciting mini upgrade to the Stableyard Tearoom entrance to make it more welcoming!

New blooms keep appearing, it is such an exciting time of year as the garden explodes with growth & different colours. The Tearoom is open Friday to Sunday & the gardens every day so don’t miss sharing them with us , there is so much to enjoy!

Every week there is something new in the garden, the wisteria is just coming out with a backdrop of the Montana clematis, the purple lilac is in full bloom, the apple blossom is glorious, the Solomon seal abounds and the bluebells are everywhere and in three colours! The Stableyard Tearoom also offers new delights each week so if you are looking for a little pleasure, join us in the garden & grounds of beautiful Benvarden.

Up on the north coast this weekend/ next week for the NW 200, give yourself a treat - visit Benvarden Gardens and the Stableyard Tearoom - open from tomorrow, Friday 1st until Sunday 10th May everyday, except tearoom closed on Tuesday. Opens at 11am until 4.30pm & 12pm Wednesday.

The photos give you a glimpse of the beauty of Benvarden & the delicious offerings in the tearoom but the whole experience is so much better, with the sound of the birds, the delight of watching them swoop around together with all the wildlife on offer, I saw a hedgehog today & a frog last week while there are red squirrels about too. Plus a few pheasants, walk or sit and enjoy nature 🦔

A cuppa & treat in The Stableyard together with a walk through the walled gardens & grounds. What could be a better way of spending your Sunday afternoon especially when the sun is shining. Cast aside the worries of the world and indulge your senses 😊🌷🧁

As near to heaven as I am likely to get! Yesterday in the garden at Benvarden, the birdsong was glorious including the woodpecker & the first cuckoo.
The colours of the shrubs are spectacular, let alone the bluebells and wild garlic, a few daffs and tulips still flowering, the magnolias and lots more. I even encountered a cleverly camouflaged frog, one of those millions of tadpoles all grown up!
Open every day while The Stableyard Tearoom is open Friday, Saturday & Sundays 11-4.30pm and Monday 4th May, the Bank Holiday weekend.
It would be a shame to miss out on such a treat to all the senses!

We are open this Friday and Saturday from 11am in collaboration with the Ballymoney Spring Fair, as the gardens encapsulate Spring with all the colourful blooms of our shrubs and carpets of daffodils and bluebells. The magnolias are at their best, the birds are joyful in building their nests and the tadpoles in the pond are rapidly transforming into frogs. Wildlife is everywhere and when you fancy some refreshment stop by the Stableyard Tearoom and enjoy our growing menu of filling soup or stew or lots of sweet treats, all homemade. A great place for all the family but bring your boots, it is wet underfoot.
Also open on Sunday from 12 - 4pm.
