This was a hot one! 🥵

So hot I didn’t get enough photos, but in the late heat of May this boiler was removed from its location in the kitchen, and relocated the loft.

The customer had already boarded the section in front.

Lots of pipework, lots more sweat and a few good laughs later and it was in.

The job was done in conjunction with the customer renovating the one and only bathroom in the house, so had to be done that week in the heat.

Hello everyone,

Going to be having a few delays over the next week or so.
Having had the van broken into last night and valuable tools taken, I’m having to reschedule jobs this week until I can replace the items.

And to finish off the week we have a sickly Stanley oil fired cooker, which is now running nicely again.
Getting more and more oil fired cookers on the books now, and quite enjoy them.

Radiator week!

Started with a lovely Carron cast iron radiator for a kitchen in a listed cottage. Looks really good utilising brass Munson rings for pipe clips.
The floor was very uneven, so custom hardwood feet are being made to replace the plastic spacers - will update once fitted.

2 column style radiators fitted in a living room with all pipework chased in to the wall, and wrapped to protect from corrosion once the wall is plastered.

Happy new year!

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and end to 2025.
One of the last jobs before Christmas was to get this rather nice Trianco oil fired cooker up and running after being out of action for a while.

A thorough clean, new nozzles and some other service items and it was running nicely again.

Evening all,
Hope everyone is well going into the festive season.
I’m having a moan as this week I attended a job that really annoyed me.

I hope that anyone following this page knows that I love my oil boiler work, it is my favourite of all the work I tackle. With this, I endeavour to make sure that every boiler I service is running optimally for efficiency and reliability.

This week I attended a breakdown for a new customer. It was initially requested for a new boiler quote, but after a quick discussion realised it just needed some TLC. The customer had informed me this boiler had been ‘serviced’ back in July / August time.

During the visit, I found the breakdown was due to locating clip missing from a component so it wasn’t able to do its job properly, and there were a couple of leaks causing pressure loss, so these were repaired as well.
My inquisitive nature got the better of me though as some things weren’t right, and on inspection found the boiler hadn’t been serviced at all ( though they had taken the time to fit new flexible hoses).

No nozzle, no cleaning and no repairs had been completed but they had taken the customers money!
The boiler needed a full service, a new burner nozzle as it had been running on the incorrect burner nozzle for 2+ years, a new condensate hose as this had failed and other little bits here and there.
The incorrect nozzle had resulted in the bottom baffle being burnt away which I will show in a future post once a new one is fitted.

This is a long winded post to show a poor service / customer service and to highlight that I love to work on oil boilers, get them running well and maintained correctly.

If you would like a new boiler, boiler service or some boiler or heating maintenance done, please don’t hesitate to call / text or email me.

Lots of work the last few weeks.
New Hounsfield Boilers Ltd external oil boiler
New Deso 650L oil tank with new concrete base
Newly created shower room, with a 90L cylinder that has been hidden.
New 200L unvented hot water cylinder.
Re - sealed bath.
Rebuilt top layers of a brick chimney, removed the pot and capped off adding an air brick for condensation purposes.
Installation of a Water2 filter system - seems prettty good, but I do recommend a dedicated filtered water tap.
First time plastering walls - personal project and it all stayed on and was nearly smooth!
Replaced an old heritage shower for a new Britain Colonial.

Throw in some boiler servicing and other small jobs and it’s been very busy.

One of this weeks jobs - replacing a Stanley oil fired Cooker and boiler, for another Stanley Cooker and boiler.

The originals boiler had failed and was leaking water, so the customer had ordered a refurbished replacement.
