There’s something satisfying about a renovation project.

This week we got stuck into another one, and it’s exactly the kind of work we enjoy.

When you first walk into some of these properties, it’s often hard to picture the finished result. Old heating systems, outdated plumbing, rooms that have seen better days…

But that’s what makes it exciting.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be completely transforming this property with:

🚿 New plumbing throughout
💧 Modern hot water system
🛁 New bathroom
🏠 Upgrades designed to improve comfort, efficiency, and reliability

What I enjoy most about these projects is being involved from the beginning and seeing the transformation take shape step by step.

🤷‍♂️ “I Thought That Was Normal…”

I hear this all the time when I’m in customers’ homes.

“The pressure drops every few weeks, but I thought that was normal.”

“That radiator’s never really worked properly.”

“The hot water has been a bit hit and miss for years.”

The funny thing is, people gradually adapt to these little issues and stop noticing them.

Until someone comes along and points out:

👉 No, that’s not actually how it’s supposed to work.

A heating system should be something you never have to think about.

The radiators should heat evenly.
The hot water should be reliable.
The pressure should stay where it’s meant to.

Sometimes the biggest improvement we make isn’t fitting new equipment.

It’s simply getting an existing system working the way it should have been all along.

☀️ Is your solar thermal system working as efficiently as it should?

Many solar thermal systems are installed and then forgotten about, but like any heating system, they need regular servicing to keep them operating safely and efficiently.

A solar thermal service can include:

✅ Checking antifreeze levels and condition
✅ Inspecting pumps, controls and sensors
✅ Checking expansion vessels and system pressure
✅ Inspecting pipework and insulation
✅ Ensuring the system is transferring heat effectively to your hot water cylinder

🏡 Progress on a Full Renovation Project

A bit of progress from a renovation project we’re currently working on.

This stage shows the installation of a Grant Pro UK underfloor heating overlay system, complete with insulation and pipework ready for the next phase.

Underfloor heating is a great option for renovation projects, helping to provide an even, comfortable heat throughout the home while working particularly well with lower flow temperatures.

This is just one part of the bigger picture on this project.

Alongside the underfloor heating, we’re also installing:
🔥 An air source heat pump
💧 An unvented hot water cylinder
🛁 A brand new bathroom
🔧 Full heating and plumbing upgrades throughout

It’s always exciting seeing projects like this start to come together, especially when you know the finished result will completely transform how the property performs and feels to live in.
