A new sunny garden room with lots of natural light and a feature internal brick wall. This links through to the kitchen making a great multi-function space. Large bifold doors will allow outdoor enjoyment during the summer.

The finished product!! The addition of an orangery to this former vicarage has provided a great south facing room to enjoy the garden whilst referencing the original materials and forms. A great client and careful attention to detail throughout this complex project which included gaining planning consent, building regulations approval, the structural design and a full specification of locally sourced stone has made the finished building a great success.

The conversion of a stable block attached to a Grade II* listed 17th and 18th Century farmhouse revealed the surviving raised cruck truss from the early building. Great care was needed to retain this and incorporate it into the structure without damage and the new load bearing ridge beam has achieved this and enabled the historic timber to be seen as an important part of the building. A client near Barnard Castle wanted a garden room to get maximum benefit from his garden whilst respecting the character and quality of the main house. A lot of detailed work on brick and stone selection was undertaken and the masonry is now almost complete. Looking forward to seeing the end result in the new year.

Re-fronting of a prominent gable to this lovely home gave a fresh look and brought high quality local materials to the modern building. Extensive internal works unified the levels and made a more organised layout of the plan. Construction by D W Walton construction, Copley, Bishop Auckland

The refurbishment and restoration of this prominent Listed Building in Staindrop was completed recently with re-pointing, repairs, replacement windows and internal alterations to make it a classy contemporary space in keeping with the historic house. Removal of the ugly modern lean-to and gates on the rear revealed the original stair window and stonework. The design work, heritage statement and building regulations submission all handled by CMF Planning and Design for a local investor and great client.
