🏠 Do you have an open fire, wood burner or solid fuel appliance?

Help reduce your risk of a chimney fire with these top tips:

• Have your chimney swept regularly by a registered professional.
• Burn dry, seasoned wood with a moisture content below 20%.
• Avoid burning treated wood, household waste or wet timber.
• Keep vents and airways clear.
• Do not overload your fire or stove.
• Use a fireguard and keep anything that can burn at least one metre away.
• Test smoke alarms monthly and fit carbon monoxide alarms where needed.

A little preparation now can help prevent a serious fire later.
