U9’s vs Doncaster Elite

Our first early kick off of the season, the lads did well matching DE in every area of the pitch through the first third. Alfie with two great goals, bringing out his inner Frank Lampard as he was very unlucky not to get more. Daniel with a great goal sending the keeper scrambling!
A team performance was needed throughout as energy and determination was the most important thing of Saturdays game. The patience of the lads was something we are working on, making them ready to pounce and steal the ball, we created endless opportunities from this causing a real threat but a great performance from DE keeper kept Dearne from running away with the game early.
As the game progressed we invited the opposition into the game, sometimes giving DE too much time on the ball. This invited pressure and allowed our opponents to attack.
A special shout out to the cat! Eli with his superhero reflexes kept us in the game and kept the score line level with 4/5 saves in the last few seconds of the game!
