Barrhead Artists New members are always welcomed. If you are interested in joining the club please just send us a dm. Barrhead Artists was formed in 1993. New members are welcome.

We meet every Thursday evening in the Auchenback Resource Centre, 64 Aurs Drive between 6.30 and 9.30pm from September to June. Annual exhibitions of our work have been held in the South and Levern Church hall, Barrhead in recent years. We hope to arrange our 2017 Exhibition for later this year. Our philosophy is that art is for everyone and although not a teaching club we are open to beginners. C

lub members are willing to share their knowledge and expertise freely. Junior Members under 18 may be accepted if accompanied by a responsible adult Member. A programme of events which runs throughout the session can include workshops, still life evenings and outings to local beauty spots for drawing and painting. Well-known professional artists such as Philip Raskin have given demonstrations of their skill and techniques. Contact our secretary Archie at 0142 880 6789 for further information.

Last Thursday 11th December was our last evening meeting before the Christmas break. We return on 8th January when anyone interested in joining us can take up a half-session membership running till the end of June 2026.
As usual, on Thursday we held our pre-Christmas night with a hectic 90 minutes or so to create hand-painted Christmas cards,
Once more the members produced an excellent variety of cards, followed by a little food and drink supplied by ourselves to finish off the evening. The finished cards were put on display and raffled so that everyone went home with a nice original Christmas card created by another member of the club.
