Mar ‘26 - Earl Shilton

Another new customer and this time a very good friend of the family, had asked me to decorate her Living Room and spare Bedroom.

The Living Room needed the existing anaglypta removing, that was fun! Then all walls were lined with grade 2000 lining paper and painted.
Ceiling and woodwork painted too.

The bedroom was a little more straightforward, just ceiling, walls and woodwork painted.

First room of a number of areas to be decorated for a new customer in Ratby.

First off was her Living Room. Existing paper removed from two walls; chimney breast wall papered with a feature paper, opposite wall lined with 2000 grade lining paper and then painted, together with the two end walls.

Room went from looking a little dour and tired to bright and fresh. The wallpaper was good to work with and I love the effect it’s had on the room.

Jan & Feb ‘26 - Newbold Verdon

After taking some time off over Christmas it was back to work in the middle of January to work for a new customer, and another one, in Newbold Verdon.

They were looking for their Sitting Room, Dining Area and Hall, Stairs and Landing to be decorated; ceilings, walls and woodwork, which included a pretty high skylight, leaving just enough room for me to squeeze up the ladder to get to. Hopefully the pic I've added will give you an idea of the limited space I had; and before you say anything, yes, I do get paint on the walls as well as my clothes! 😅

Sitting Room:

The lighter colours are not dissimilar to the old paints, hopefully, you’ll be able to see the improvement which led to happy customers. 😊

Nov ‘25 - Nailstone

Another lovely couple of returning customers, this time in Nailstone. On this occasion it was a bit of a make-over for their bathroom.

Ceiling, walls, wood panelling and door frame all prepped and painted.

The choice of the colour for the wood panelling was quite a contrast from the previous one. Pretty striking and I think it really works. What do you think?

Returning customer wanting their through Living and Dining Rooms decorating.

All paper stripped from the walls. Living room walls paper with a feature paper; Dining room lined using 2000 grade lining paper and then emulsioned.

The connecting wall was just painted on both sides.

Woodwork, skirting boards, frame and interior window also painted.

I then moved on to my third customer in Kibworth Beauchamp but only had to travel a few yards next door.

My customer wanted her Living Room and Den decorating and then asked if I could give the Entrance to her Hallway a quick refresh which I was happy to do.

She had taken a dislike to her stone fireplace and wanted it painting black. So after taking advice from my supplier, it received a coat of Luja Universal Primer and then two coats of Luja 7. Quite a transformation.

Sep ‘25 - Kibworth Beauchamp

After a few weeks away workinmg at other customer's houses, it was back to Kibworth Beauchamp at the beginning of September, to finish working at my second of three customers, all next door to each other.

I had previously decorated their Entrance Hall, Downstairs Toilet, Living and Dining rooms, Stairs and Landing. Now it was the turn of the Conservatory, Kitchen and rooms upstairs.

As previously, all ceilings, walls and woodwork completed, including adding more new door handles.

The bedroom ceilings had been skimmed, so they had a coat of Wickes’ Plaster Paint before applying the emulsion.

My customers were again very happy with the new look; hopefully you’ll agree.

Aug ‘25 - Earl Sh*ton

First job back after a couple of weeks off and just down the road from me in Earl Shilton for a new customer who wanted her Living Room wallpaper changing. It hadn’t been changed in around 15 years and she wanted a new look.

Happily, she was very pleased with the work and I do like her choice of paper. Works well.
