Popped up on my memories today from 10 years ago.

A faux 6 over 6 window that I did.

Would have been a window originally but fell victim to the window tax so had been blocked up under Queen Victoria’s rule. Good old Victorians. 🙂

It’s where the saying ‘daylight robbery’ comes from, if you didn’t know. 😊

Popped down to Monmouth in Wales yesterday to put the finishing touches on this giant bespoke skylight/roof lantern that the very talented lads at Greendown Joinery produced from scratch.

I’ve seen some amazing joinery in my life before but this thing is something else.

If anybody needs any very well made/elite joinery down the line then please get in touch.
Doors, windows, gates, staircases etc.

Been working out a friends house for the last few weekends on and off doing their front room. They bought the place a little while ago and have done most of the rooms themselves but wanted me to do the front room.

Went and looked at it in the summer originally but we’ve been waiting for the lovely new LVT floor to go down which only happened 3 weeks or so ago so made a start a couple of weekends ago.

It’s now gone from a not very nice mustard colour to ‘Chatsworth’ off of the Crown colour card, mixed in Clean Extreme for a pet and grand children bullet proof finish 🥊 with ‘Silk Veil’ Crown Fastflow satin on the woodwork to compliment it.

It’s going to be a nice room to relax in after a hard days work in the cold winter months coming up, especially with the log burner lit. 😍

They’re very much looking froward to getting back into their room after it being pretty much out of action for a month or so.

New Cottage style oak doors to follow soon, a possible new oak mantle with some shelves here and there and a built in log store aswell in the alcove to the right of the chimmney. My friends going to box in the pipes that you can see at the back of the room and he’s happy to finish that himself painting wise. Then just silicone the floor to finish.

Can’t wait to see the room fully finished/furnished.

Been back out to the Greendown workshop again this week to give them a hand to push things on.

Knotted, primed, undercoated and top coated most of a huge pile of tounge and groove planks. Thats literally all I’ve been doing all week! Don’t wanna see anymore lengths of T&G for a longgg time.. 😑

All these will be used in the ceilings of their next two amazing hut builds. Back out there the first week of August for a week to help push on said builds.

As always, a good crack with a great bunch of lads.

Due to the bad weather on Thursday and Friday last week the scaffolded exterior job I’ve been working on came to a bit of a stop so I was more than happy to jump on for my brothers firm Greendown Shepherd Huts for a couple of days to give them a hand to push things on.

Obviously nothing like what I’m used to painting but was easy enough. A couple of coats on this hut before it gets fitted out then a snag over afterwards. Also did a bit of priming and top coating for some of the exterior cladding and fascias.

This hut is the first of their new 10ft wide model. The usual ones are only 8ft.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. 😊

F&B Skimming Stone is the lighter colour and F&B Denimes is the grey, both mixed up into Dulux quick dry satin.
