“Dahlias are without doubt my favourite plant in the world” - Sarah Raven 🌸

And it’s easy to see why! Dahlias bring months of spectacular colour to the garden, flowering from midsummer right through to the first frosts.

Not only are they stunning in borders and containers, but they’re also fantastic for pollinators, attracting bees and butterflies throughout the season. Plus, the more flowers you pick, the more they produce - making them perfect for beautiful home-grown bouquets 💐

A few top tips for happy dahlias:
🌸 Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot.
💧 Water regularly during dry periods.
🌱 Feed every couple of weeks once flowering starts.
✂️ Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering.
🐌 Protect young plants from slugs and snails.

With a little care, dahlias will reward you with a dazzling display all summer long. Which variety is your favourite?

Mediterranean plants such as olives, lavender, rosemary and oleander are becoming increasingly popular in British gardens, and it’s easy to see why! Their beautiful silvery foliage, fragrant flowers and drought-tolerant nature bring year round interest and a touch of holiday charm to outdoor spaces.

These plants thrive in sunny, sheltered spots with well-drained soil. Once established, many require less watering than traditional garden plants, making them a great choice for warmer, drier summers. Lavender and rosemary also attract bees and pollinators, helping to support the local wildlife 🐝🌿

Top care tips:
🌞 Plant in a sunny position with plenty of light.
🌱 Ensure good drainage – Mediterranean plants dislike sitting in wet soil.
✂️ Light pruning after flowering helps keep plants compact and healthy.
🧣 Protect more tender varieties, such as oleander and young olive trees, during severe winter frosts.

🌹 New Arrival: The Sir David Beckham Rose 🌹

Fresh from its launch at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, we’ve managed to get our hands on a limited number of the brand new David Austin English shrub rose, ‘Sir David Beckham’!

Its scent is surprisingly complex: fresh green notes hint at banana, giving way to warm honeyed musk with layers of nougat, clove and myrrh. Growing upright to around 3–4ft, it’s perfect for borders or pots, making it an easy addition to many gardens.

For every Sir David Beckham rose sold, £2.50 will be donated to The King’s Foundation, where Beckham serves as an ambassador. The charity supports sustainable communities, heritage projects and education programmes inspired by the vision of King Charles III.

These are in limited supply, so they won’t be around for long!
