🌿 Green Hands has been busy giving your lawns their final treatment of the year! πŸ‚

Our Autumn/Winter lawn treatment helps your grass stay strong through the colder months β€” it:

βœ… Hardens the lawn for those tough winter conditions
βœ… Brings out a rich, deep green colour
βœ… Kills off any moss and helps prevent it from spreading

It’s still fairly mild, so the grass is continuing to grow. On the next dry day, give your lawn one last cut before winter sets in β€” set your mower to number 4 and leave the grass slightly longer to protect it over the coming months.

Here are a few snaps πŸ“Έ of your lush, healthy lawns from last week β€” looking amazing! 😍🌱

Hello πŸ‘‹ Welcome to the weekend πŸ₯³

I really enjoyed creating these low maintenance borders. All of the plants I've chosen are super easy to look after and hard to kill πŸ˜‚ Perfect for this busy family with young children. ❀️ The customer has booked in for their lawn renovation next year then the garden will be complete.

Have a great weekend everyone πŸ’š

Another super busy week at Green Hands. Your gardens this week are looking absolutely fantastic, I absolutely love Autumn πŸ‚ 😍 ❀️

Don't forget to apply your leatherjacket treatments to your lawns. There are LOTS of cranefly emerging from the lawns this week so LOTS of new leatherjackets being laid in your lawns. Now is the perfect time to plant your Spring bulbs before the ground becomes frozen, you can also split and move any overgrown perennials this month. You can trim back any overgrown shrubs before the frosts set in.

Remember to remove any leaves from your lawn to prevent grass die back underneath them. Gather up the leaves and add them to the compost bin or bag them up to make your own leaf mould compost.

A few πŸ“Έ from this week.

Hello πŸ‘‹

I hope everyone has had a good week! Early Autumn is truly setting in now, baltic in the morning and the Bahamas in the afternoon πŸ˜‚

Just a quick reminder for lawn care customers: Don't forget to apply your leatherjacket treatment NOW! I've seen lots of cranefly (daddylong legs) therefore they are starting to hatch therefore they are laying new leatherjackets to eat your lovely lawns. Ensure you get those treatments down ASAP. Any questions please do get in touch.

It's been a busy week getting your gardens ready for winter. Lots of bulb planting for spring 🌸🌷🌼

Hello πŸ‘‹

It's been such a busy start to Autumn this week! πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚ Lots of gardening in-between all the (much needed) rain showers. The last of the lawn renovations were completed this week. Autumn is the best time to renovate your lawn as the soil is still warm from summer and there is usually good moisture in the ground. Lawn renovations usually only take a couple of weeks to recover vs 4-6 weeks for spring renovations.

I've planted over 800 bulbs alone this week. When planting make sure the pointy side of the bulb is facing upwards (as pictured) if you're unsure which side is the pointy side just plant the bulb on its side and nature will do its thing! When planting bulbs in pots (and in the ground) ignore what the instructions say on the packaging. Cram those bulbs in tightly together for a more compact and fuller display!

Now is the perfect time to divide any overgrown perennials and dig up any spent summer bedding plants to make way for some Autumn colour. The garden centres are packed with lots of plants that will give you Autumn colour.

Happy Gardening πŸ’š

Have a great week ahead everyone!

NOW is the perfect time to apply your leatherjacket treatment. The soil is still warm with some good moisture. The leatherjackets will be newly hatched and will be most susceptible to the nematodes treatment. If you want your lawn to stay like this πŸ‘‡then don't forget to apply your Nematodes πŸ’š

Hello πŸ‘‹ I hope you have all enjoyed the sunshine this weekend! We've now entered my favourite season, AUTUMN πŸ‚ 😍

What a summer 2025 has been πŸ₯³ I haven't stopped and have a camera roll full of photos from your garden that I haven't gotten round to posting. I will add some to this post. Its been a touch summer in your gardens this year. The serious lack of rain has had a big impact. My water butt is finally full again (overflowing earlier this week!) One extreme to another!

This month is the month to start planning and planting your spring garden. You can now start to plant your Spring flowering bulbs. September is also a fantastic month to pick up a few bargains in the garden centres as they start to sell off their summer flowering perennials generally half price or less. Whilst the flowers will have finished for this year, they will come back again next and for many years after that for a fraction of the cost if you bought them next year. πŸ‘

With the latest rain we've had your lawn should have perked up and be bouncing back to life (if you didn't water it over summer) This week is my last week of lawn renovations for 2025 and I'm fully booked. Lawn renovations will commence again April 2026. I'm already at nearly 50% capacity so get in touch if your would like a designer Green Hands lawn for 2026 😜 πŸ˜‚

Autumn lawn treatments will be in October. I will be in touch with my lawn customers this month to let you know the dates πŸ‘

Have a great week ahead everyone πŸ’š

It's been a busy week applying your Summer lawn treatment. Despite the serious lack of rain your lawns are holding up and looking fantastic. These pictures were taken BEFORE the summer lawn treatment was applied (with the exception of the last 2 pictures, that's my lawn and had it's treatment a week ago) In a weeks time they will look even better! The lawn is most definitely greener if it's a Green Hands lawn πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸŒ±πŸ’š

Another lawn renovation for you lawn lovers 🌱

This lawn was full of every w**d imaginable! Had loads of brambles growing through it too. Was completely unusable for the little one. Now it's a lush green carpet ready for summer πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

Summer and we'll and truly arrived this week! β˜€οΈπŸ₯΅β˜€οΈπŸ₯΅

Your lawns may start to struggle in this heat. Watering once or twice a week deeply will keep it looking nice and green. Water early morning when the ground is cooler to prevent evaporation. The same rule applies when watering your borders and don't forget your pots. They dry out much faster and need watering daily. πŸ’§πŸ’§πŸ’§

Here is another lawn renovated by Green Hands. Photo's taken are 4 weeks apart!
