Monday motivation from our Scottish garden 🍅
New week, new energy and the warmer weather has our tomatoes thriving and fruiting beautifully. This growing season reminds us that timing is everything in gardening, but with a greenhouse or polytunnel, you can extend the season and keep growing for longer.
One tip that works really well for us is companion planting. We grow marigolds and African basil, also known as Nigerian curry leaves or scent leaves, alongside our tomatoes. They help attract pollinators, support healthy growth and make the garden smell amazing too.
These photos are proof that you can successfully grow tomatoes and other food crops even in Scotland with the right guidance, consistency and care.
If you have been thinking about starting your own food garden, let this be your sign to begin. Start where you are, use the space you have and grow something amazing.
