❄️ Are We Really Getting a Snowy Cold Snap?
You’ve probably seen the headlines shouting about an “Arctic blast” or “snow bomb” heading for Britain this month… but that’s not quite the case.
🌡️ The latest forecasts show no sign of a major cold snap or heavy snow on the way — at least not yet.
While October snow isn’t impossible, it’s rare. The ground is still too mild for it to stick around, and any wintry showers are likely to be short-lived.
🧊In fact, extreme cold spells have become less frequent and shorter across the UK in recent decades, thanks to our changing climate.
So before we dust off the sledges, it’s worth remembering: snowfall predictions only become accurate a few days in advance — and the next few weeks look typically autumnal, not Arctic. 🌧️🍂
