Consumer unit swap today after it failed an EICR, no fault of its own though, the ze of the supply was too high, the DNO (electric board) was contacted and they reported back that they have a bad earth connection to the property, so they declared it to be a TT system, so because they can't be arsed to fix it the householder was left with no effective earth!.. Which means their split consumer unit was not compatible with the new TT earthing system.. So the unit was swapped out for a full rcbo and surge protected unit, new earth spike installed and tested.
(not pics taken when roughed in, this was not the finished article lol)

⚡️ Beware of counterfeit electricals during the holiday season 🎅

When shopping online, especially via online marketplaces involving third-party sellers, it can be easy to fall for deals that seem too good to be true. But buying electrical products from third-party sellers whose products may not comply with UK safety standards means you could be bringing unsafe, untested items into your home. Don't risk it this Christmas! 🎄

Here’s how to stay safe: 🔌 Buy from reputable high-street retailers 🔌 Look for safety markings 🔌 Avoid suspiciously cheap prices.

Check out our ‘Don’t Be Electricked’ guide to learn how to shop smart and keep your loved ones safe. 🎁✨
