A weekend spent with a difference.

A phone call at the end of the week asking if I could help out at the Ulster Karting Championship, by offering an extra pair of hands as a mechanic to help Ollie Clarke Racing through practice day on Friday and the Championship on Saturday.

To say I was a little anxious is an understatement, I’ve attended a previous meet and seen how important time is off the essence. Nonetheless, I agreed as love to learn new skills – albeit happy to pay someone to maintain my own vehicles.

Friday afternoon was a great introduction to behind the scenes. The weather was average, warm temperatures with the odd spit of rain, however, everything ran smoothly, Ollie was in great form and the kart was running like a well oiled machine.

The evening finished off on a high and everyone was in great form.

Fast forward to the following morning – a slightly sleepless night and I was making my way back up to Nutts Corner Karting for the real McCoy.

The weather was ideal, but not perfect. Oliie was the usual – cool, calm and collective.
Ahead of him lay 3 Heats and a Final race – nail-biting tension for fans and supporters, but Ollie remained calm at all times.

Heat 1 – Finished 1st
Heat 2 – Finished 1st
Heat 3 – Finished 1st
Final – Finished 1st

Won the Tillotson T4 Senior
Won the Driver Of the Day

Another commercial boilerhouse with a gas detection upgrade.

The current system didn’t have any CO interlock and had a dated control panel.

System brought up to current regulations and has full protection from CO, Methane and Fire.

Another local restaurant having their gas detection system upgraded to comply with the current regulations.

A new Flamefast GasGuard panel installed with new Methane sensors, CO2 sensor, air proving for both supply and extractions, gas proving of downstream pipework before being made available for use.

These works were carried outside of trading hours to minimise downtime for the client and gave time for installation and commissioning of the new equipment without the pressure of getting back online.

Return visit to a local Church who was complaining about lack of heat despite the boiler running.

A diagnosis confirmed the boiler was working as it should, but the heat not being distributed to the boiler due to a weak circulating pump.

A new pump was sourced locally and replaced with minimum disruption to services.
