When will it stop raining!!!!! I bought Chris a rain guage for Christmas for the allotment but the water butts he emptied only a few weeks ago, so he could move them to their new positions. Are proving a rain gauge on a more appropriate, industrial scale. In only 4 weeks they have gone from empty to full gathering only the water off a 6 x 4 ft shed. The overflow butt is also at least 2/3rds full. The last picture of the not quite full water butt has also filled from empty to that level simply catching the water from the drip at the far end of the guttering. Please let us have some snow and sunshine.

A festive Six on Saturday from me showing bits that have been dried from the garden and then used as christmas decorations. Start with a classic, poppy seed heads dry so easily and always look fabulous , I always get in trouble for the seeds they drop everywhere whilst they are drying but they are an added bonus for next year once swept up and saved in an envelope....

Alocasia sanderiana My starter for ten, This houseplant was there at the very beginning. When I first developed an interest in gardening at the age of 19, I headed to Gardeners World Live. Living in the midlands in those days we didnt have an rhs flower show near by so the NEC was the place to be. I found a note book the other day with all the plants I fell in love with that day and this one was on that list. [ 602 more words ]
