A reminder that it not necessary to tidy everything up in Autumn. Ecology needs dead leaves, and old flower stems. Help wildlife by caring for your gardening in an ecological way.

This article gives a summary of why. It’s American so species are different, but ecology works the same everywhere.

🍁 create dead leaf piles
🍁 don’t cut back
🍁 compost
🍁 build dead hedges and log piles
🍁 leave ground cover

This patch of woodland adjoining Belper Community Hall is up for sale. Can you donate to the fundraiser to purchase the land for wildlife and community benefit, rather than development? What a terrible loss of natural green space it would be.
